Piazza delle Vettovaglie, una delle piazze più conosciute del centro storico di Pisa è stata costruita tra il 1544 e il 1545 per volontà di Cosimo I de Medici ed era denominata Piazza del Grano, in quanto il commercio era limitato solamente a quel prodotto ed in seguito ampliando la varietà delle merci dal 1771 venne cambiato il nome in quello attuale.

LOVED this place, there’s so much on offer here from food to drinks/cocktails. An absolute must-visit if coming to Pisa, we came for drinks on one evening during the Europa Italy v Albania game and the atmosphere...

We gingen hier naartoe voor de wekelijkse markt. Meer bepaald om vers lokaal fruit. Er stond 1 groenten en fruit kraampje. We betaalden 8€ voor welgeteld 3 perziken en 1 avocado. Proficiat aan de verkoopster om het toerisme in Pisa te stimuleren. Je telt meer dan de dubbele prijs voor toeristen en gaat tevreden naar huis. De toeristen komen niet meer terug.
