Horrible experience. Ran by an extremenly grumpy man, who was unprepared for our company of 20, even though we made a reservation beforehand. He then proceeded to lie that the pizza oven was not working. After this he dumped a sad, half-burned excuse for a bruschetta on the ground and one of the guests and did not offer cleanup/compensation. We waited extremely long (1 hour+; we wrote this review in the meantime). Guests of our company got their food at completely different times (some in 20min, others in 1h+). At intervals, other customers smoked indoors. When the pizza finally came, it was burned on the outside and raw on the inside. The menus were at no point ever removed off the table, by the way. Even in the bathroom we could not be safe, as the upper part of the bathroom stall doors is semi-transparent for some reason. The amazing, hardworking waitresses deserve better than to work in this tragedy of a restaurant. This must be a ploy to make people buy more alcohol. PS: Do not be mistaken by the positive reviews: they are posted on this page on accident, actually they praise the restaurant next...
Read moreOn the main avenue leading to the town plaza. Across from one of the entrances to the Pompeii ruins. We walked in with the lunch crowd of locals, all 50+ in their Sundays best. It was adorable and reassuring that we were in for a delicious dining experience. We had a bottle of Gragnano red which was sparkling and thirst quenching. The prosciutto and burrata were exquisite, aromatic and fresh. The pasta was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We followed all that food with dessert: sfogliatella and the mandorla cake. My boyfriend ordered the spaghetti vongole which is what everyone in the restaurant had ordered. They also followed that with a fried seafood mix that we were too stuffed to even try. Excellent food, great ambience and decor. The bathrooms could use a more...
Read moreWe had eaten here 8 years ago so broke our own rule of not going in if the restaurant is empty. We really wish we hadn't! We both ordered pizza, husband had Vesuvius & I had Capriccosia (sp). Neither of us has had a pizza so bad before. The base sauce tasted as if they had just used a can of tomatoes, the base wasn't cooked properly & was raw in the middle. The Vesuvius had a dough topping & was made to look like it was erupting!!! All it did was hide the fact that there was very little filling & what there was certainly wasn't spicy - just watery & tasteless. We left after a few bites, the owner/staff didn't seem...
