Ristorante Lido — Restaurant in Portoferraio

Firstly I want to start of with the menu which was only in Italian, no other languages, so extremely difficult to even know what to order at first, there was only two members of staff working through out the evening on a Saturday for a capacity of roughly around 40 people. Me and my partner waiting upto at least 20mins to even have other order taken at the beginning, with the owner admitting that he forgot about us, without even saying sorry for waiting so, long. After we had the starter which wasn't anything special for the price you pay, we then went on to waiting another 30-40 minutes for our main which once again wasn't anything special. I'll definitely won't recommend this place to anyone that is on holiday visiting elba, and you will surely never see me and my partner spending our money at this restaurant ever...

If you have allergies I wouldn’t recommend eating here as they do not listen to your requests, my partner ordered a simple pasta dish while he was with family that wanted to eat seafood, he can’t eat fish and dairy products and asked for a simple garlic, chilli and oil pasta but they added cheese and he specifically asked no cheese!!

When he received the plate he started eating and noticed the cheese and he asked the waitress if it was cheese and she immediately denied and said the chef’s know what they’re doing. After complaining again because the waitress was lying to his face the owner came and apologised. He had stomach...

Horrible service, food average, took over an hour to bring us the food since we ordered without any apology. They even admitted that they forgot about us twice. Stuff unfriendly, probably a bit racists, no menu in English and staff not willing to try and assist. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone to even try this place, don't understand why it has so many good reviews...
