A Casa di Nonna, which beautifully translates to Grandma’s House, delivers exactly what the name promises: warm, honest, home-style cooking in a simple but welcoming, unpretentious setting. This isn’t a place for fussy menus or trendy plating. Instead, it’s a celebration of simple, traditional flavours done perfectly.
While this may not be the best choice for strict vegetarians, meat lovers will find themselves in heaven. The grilled pig I had was nothing short of outstanding, tender, richly flavoured, and cooked to absolute perfection. Even the grilled potatoes, often treated as a side note elsewhere, stood out here with their crisp exterior and soft, fluffy centre.
Everything came together beautifully: the speed of service, the friendliness of the staff, and the relaxed atmosphere all made the experience feel both effortless and memorable. A Casa di Nonna isn’t just another restaurant: it’s a place where the food speaks for itself and reminds you why simple cooking, done right, is sometimes all you need.
Highly recommended if you’re in Sardinia and want a proper taste of local...
Read moreWe’ve been there twice , on the first evening we’ve got the spit roast pork, it’s been great, the meat has been very soft and juicy. Potatoes as a side as well pretty good . They could have more wine choices ( only red house , no white and rose) . On the second dinner night we’ve got beef tartare which has been pretty hard , could be much more tender , as well no salt at all. We had as well two main courses , fregola with sheep and pasta with wild boar , both have been been pretty good , but again not seasoned enough . The dessert was really good , a panna cotta. In particular two nice nights , it needs just more seasoning and salt, and a better...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, from photos that I have seen and the concept. However, the food, in my opinion, the most important part, was disappointing. The piglet was so well presented and such a huge portion yet overcooked and dry. The fillet of beef was sent back twice because not cooked correctly and it was two pieces of random meat. It didn’t look like a fillet, it didn’t taste like a fillet. More like a skirt steak and a piece of rump but sold as fillet of beef. Not impressed. Sad to see donkey and horse meat on the menu but I do accept they might be local delicacies. Service was ok. Buzzing atmosphere with nice old...
