“Amazing food, service and best local restaurant in Pula!!”

I had a wonderful experience from start to finish, the service was amazing especially my waiter who was full of energy and charisma!

Amazing and beautiful outdoor atmosphere setting with attractive landscaping opposite the church which has a selection of tables outside under the trees and flower puts with lights hung all around the place. To call it romantic is an understatement!

I went for lunch there today and as soon as I entered the restaurant the server brought me a bottle of water with a bowl of ice cubes due to the extreme heat. This was a very warm and welcoming gesture on his part and so thoughtful of him to do so.

All the staff are extremely knowledgeable, speak excellent English and very friendly. Even the Host/Manager came and personally greeted me.

A MUST place to visit and an added advantage is that their food portions are very big, delicious with plenty of fresh seafood for a modest price. They even offered me a Lemonade with mint free of charge to cool me down since it was extremely hot today afternoon.

A nice walk before and after dinner is advisable. It’s a top notch restaurant and I have decided to eat there more often as it’s an excellent garden courtyard restaurant with a romantic atmosphere you can’t go wrong with a gem of a place like this.

Vedendo le tante belle recensioni, Sopratutto di stranieri abbiamo prenotato per cena, Una volta arrivati li, ci fanno il benvenuto in inglese e li si capisce che il locale in centro a Pula è un acchiappa turisti. Nel menu c’è poco di Sardegna, il pane carasau non era fresco e sembrava rimasto aperto parecchi giorni risultando molle. Dopo circa 20 minuti i camerieri passano a ritirare le ordinazioni, per gli antipasti(un tagliere di salumi e formaggi e frutta di scarsa qualità) sono stati necessari altri 35 minuti. Dopo circa un ora e mezza di attesa totale arrivano i primi che risultano appena sufficienti sia nel gusto che nella qualità. Chiediamo subito gentilmente quindi di cancellare l’ordinazione dei secondi visto i tempi di attesa, ci viene detto che sono già in cottura in modo scortese a dir poco dicendo testuali parole “se avete fretta ci sono altri locali”. Tolto il fatto che non avevamo fretta, però attendere oltre un ora e 30 da quando ci si è seduti al tavolo per un tagliere e un piatto di pasta non è accettabile, secondo nessun ristoratore mette i secondi in cottura nel momento stesso che si servono i primi, sopratutto perché il pesce grigliata ha un tempo di cottura di circa 10/15 minuti. Dopo le lamentele sul tempo di attesa ci viene detto di aspettare altri 10 minuti, ed arrivano prima il piatto di tonno alla griglia, dopo qualche minuto il pesce spada con i contorni , e dopo altri 7 minuti il piatto di gamberi, servendo prima i contorni quindi dell’ultimo secondo, (probabilmente i secondi quindi non erano già in cottura quando è stato chiesto di cancellare gli ordini). I secondi risultavano stopposi per quanto riguarda il pesce, e il brandy nei gamberi non si sentiva. Pagato il conto si fa presente il tutto e invece di scusarsi per la cena vergognosa che è stata servita il cameriere continua a comportarsi in modo totalmente scorretto alludendo che noi fossimo stati maleducati avvisandoli dei tempi di attesa troppo lunghi. Sono anni che pranzo e ceno fuori quasi tutti i giorni e i problemi in cucina possono sempre capitare, ma in caso di problemi il ristoratore e i camerieri si sono sempre scusati e si sono sempre comportati in modo corretto, in questo caso oltre che rivedere in meglio il menu e il modo di cucinare consiglio al ristoratore di fare un corso su come comportarsi...

This was the only restaurant (in the three areas in Sardinia that we stayed in) that we went back to - and that was the very next night, cos it it was our last one in Sardinia!

I can only comment on one of the starters, the Fishermans Plate, because it was that good we had it both times! Don't be put off by the fact that the tuna/salmon/sailfish are all smoked - it was the subtlest smoking I have tasted. Plus the octopus pieces were nice and tender.

Whatever you have for a main, you have to try the Dauphinoise potatoes - rich, creamy and cheesy.
