Federico's — Restaurant in Pula

Possibly the worst dining experience of my life. The food was so bad it is difficult to describe. If this review will save someone from going to eat there, I will be happy. The cozy look of the place makes you think you will be served traditional food, well make no mistake, you wont. We ordered 4 different dishes, if I would have to rate them, I would say my husbands main course was the worst: "carbonara" they called it. It wasn't made with guanciale or pancetta, it was some cheap bacon bought in a supermarket that was presliced to be served on a sandwich, and they chopped it by themselves in thin stripes. It was sprinkled on top of the dish more like decoration judging from the scarse amount of it. The sause was so salty it was diffucult to swallow. I can honestly say: we ordered 4 dishes, all were discusting, my husbands "carbonara" was the worst aswell as his "polpo with avocado". I don't think there is one single dish on this menu that is good. At the end after ordering the check we waited for I dont know how long, and the waitress would pass in front of us perhaps 8 to 10 times, when my husband asked for the bill a second time she responded rudely and with elevated tone that she will bring it right away, and that was just the cherry on top. They say all experiences are good and in a week or so I am sure my husband and I we will laugh at this, but dear, oh dear.... I so wish we had gone somewhere else :( I saw reviews of other people and I see in his responses the owner is rude and condescending towards people. No wonder the...

Ci siamo recati per un aperitivo sulla terrazza. Abbiamo scelto il tavolo e dopo pochissima attesa è arrivata la cameriera a prendere l ordine. Abbiamo ordinato una acqua tonica e un campari spritz. Dopo 10 minuti arriva un altra cameriera al tavolo per prendere l ordine, noi ringraziamo e diciamo di aver già ordinato. Intanto notiamo che al bar non c e nessuno e che la barista inizia una telefonata. Vabbeh pensiamo sarà una telefonata urgente...non importa ,aspettiamo... Terminata la sua telefonata, invece di tornare alla "sua" postazione dietro al banco a preparare i drink, prende il libretto delle comande e fa il giro fra i tavoli e passa anche da noi. Noi iniziamo ad essere un po scocciati e diciamo per la TERZA volta che abbiamo gia ordinato e stiamo aspettando un campari spritz e un acqua tonica da oltre 20min . Lei prende e se ne va girandoci letteralmente la faccia. Vabbeh sorvoliamo anche su questo, e decidiamo di attendere ancora in quanto dopo il giro torna dietro al bancone del bar. Arrivano altri 2 o 3 tavoli e vediamo preparare subito i drink per loro, e a noi ancora nulla. A quel punto dopo altri 10 minuti ci alziamo e ci avviamo verso l uscita! Ci inseguono in 2, la cameriera e la barista , cercando spiegazioni sul perché stessimo andando via. Noi ormai spazientiti per la situazione piu che evidente, rispondiamo che abbiamo aspettato oltre 30 minuti per un campari e un acqua tonica, e poi veder serviti pure quelli arrivati dopo di noi! Ci sentiamo presi in giro! La cameriera ci dice che loro erano prenotati, che questi sono i "tempi estivi" (terrazza quasi vuota) e che ora ci avrebbe servito subito e di riaccomodarci. Ma decidiamo di andarcene per tutto l insieme di cose. Mi chiedo che organizzazione avete? I vostri ruoli? Perché la barista passeggia in sala invece di preparare le comande? Perché passate in 3 a prendere le ordinazioni? Perché nonostante gli altri solleciti ci avete girato la faccia e continuato a fare altro (molte passeggiate a vuoto in sala)? Ho lavorato anch io in ristorazione e capisco quando non ne vale la pena, quando c è disorganizzazione e mancanza di comunicazione fra lo staff e mi dispiace per voi forse neanche voglia di lavorare! Ci dispiace esser stati trattati cosi visto che eravamo gia' clienti, tanto che 4 anni fa vi misi 5 stelle per il servizio ,ma dopo questa non metteremo più piede nel vostro locale! Peccato, perche' avete belle recensioni ma anche tante negative simili alla nostra esperienza che ci confermano certi comportamenti. C è chi ci sa fare e chi ha voglia di lavorare da altre parti! Due to location and overall structure we had high expectations for this place, but aside from the very nice and friendly waitresses, everything else was a big disappointment. It started on a low note with bread served in a paper bag that tasted stale, as if it had been stored for weeks.

Then the meals arrived. My risotto was cold, which completely killed my appetite, I asked them to take the plate and the same risotto came but this time warm, the taste was not good anyways. I regret not to cancelled it. My boyfriend's carbonara pasta was painfully average, comparable to what you might find on the streets of New York :)

To sum it up, this place is not worth a visit and definitely not worth the money they charge. It was an absolutely...
