S'Osteria — Restaurant in Pula

Was really excited to go here on our last day of honeymoon, but left in tears as we were treated awfully. We were ignored for 15 mins as Italians who came after us were served first. We tried to speak Italian - there was no red wine list on display so asked for a glass of house red as didn't know what else he had - only to be told that they only sold it by the bottle. He made no attempt to elaborate or suggest what red wines could come by the glass - and made no attempt to speak in English so we assumed he couldn't - so we got the impression there was no red wine by the glass and we instead ordered a white wine, which was disgusting and smelled and tasted like rotten fruit. We were confused when we saw him give others red wine by the glass, and later found a board inside (out of view) listing red wines by the glass. When it came to pay, he suddenly could speak English. Ci siamo affidati al proprietario chiedendo dei taglieri per 6 persone e una bottiglia di vino rosso. Il proprietario, con modi saccenti, si prende carico dell'ordinazione senza dare troppe spiegazioni. Dopo un'attesa non poco indifferente, nonostante le poche persone sedute ai tavoli, porta al tavolo 2 taglieri che, a parer nostro, erano per 3-4 persone al massimo(per me anche 2 persone se si è affamati) che alla fine sono stati pagati 75 euro nel totale. Un tagliere di quelle dimensioni non vale 37,50 euro e forse neanche la metà. Se la qualità dei prodotti fosse stata eccellente probabilmente poteva anche valerne 20/25 euro ma la qualità era discreta, niente che ci abbia entusiasmato. La presenza della poca varietà di prodotti(visto le dimensioni del tagliere) ha reso il tutto poco gradevole, c'erano a malapena 2 formaggi diversi. Il pane servito era circa una fetta a testa e un po' di pane carasau, ed è finito nel giro di 1 minuto. Inoltre non c'è stata nessuna spiegazione dei salumi e formaggi che, nonostante la ridotta quantità, potevano essere spiegati o quantomeno menzionati nel giro di 20 secondi. Il vino rosso è stato servito freddo e già stappato(non si fa), e facendolo notare al proprietario, ha risposto saccentemente quale fosse la temperatura ideale per servire il vino rosso considerando la temperatura esterna di 30 gradi che ha subito creato condensa sui bicchieri. Poi abbiamo notato che tiene i vini nei frigo bar per le bibite.. In totale abbiamo speso 136 euro per 2 taglieri, 2 bottiglie di vino rosso, 2 calici di vino bianco. We were looking for some kind of restaurant. Since we had not reserved anything, it was almost impossible to get a table for 2 people in Pula. After about 10 restaurants had turned us down, we wanted to go home. By chance we came across this small, beautiful restaurant.
