I recently dined at Sa Domu Sarda in Pula, and it was an great experience. From start to finish, the restaurant impressed me with its warm ambiance, attentive service, and delicious Sardinian cuisine.
Service by Jade: Jade, our server, deserves special mention. Her attentive and friendly demeanor made our dining experience memorable. She provided excellent recommendations for wines and food. She was fluent in English while we tried our best in Italian language. She ensured that we, including our dog Toffee š š¶ š¾ felt welcome throughout the meal.
Sheep Stew (Stufato di Agnello): The sheep stew was a highlight. Tender chunks of lamb slow-cooked with aromatic herbs, saffron and Vermentino white wine sauce resulted in a rich, flavorful dish. The meat practically melted in my mouth, and the sauce was divine.
Culurgiones with Walnuts and Pine Nuts: The Culurgionesāa traditional Sardinian pastaāwere outstanding. These handmade dumplings were generously filled with a mixture of potato, cheese, and mint. The addition of walnuts and pine nuts added delightful crunch and depth of flavor.
Dessert: Su Pappai Biancu: To end our meal, we indulged in Su Pappai Biancu, a classic Sardinian dessert. This sweet ricotta-filled pastry was drizzled with honey and sprinkled with toasted almonds. Each bite was heavenly.
At the end Jade offered us a delicious wild Mirto.... Mmmmhhh
Overall, Sa Domu Sarda deserves my full recommendation in Pula. Whether youāre a local or a visitor, I highly recommend trying their authentic Sardinian dishes. And donāt forget to ask for Jadeāyou wonāt be disappointed!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreRoberto is the best ober in the world! We had a great experience. Really cares for his guests and has a healthy amount of humor.
Primi: Ravioli. The ravioli is nice and tasty but still misses something. I suggest maybe putting some pepper on it? Or atleast, give it some more⦠bite. Give it something special. It was a bit bland. Score: 7
Secondi: Horse filet. Super nice and very soft. Just had to put pepper and salt on it to go from an 7 to a 9. Great!
Wine: Great choices. Score: 10.
Side dishes: poatoes and vegetables. The pltatoes are a solid 9. The vegetables a 5. Very boring (like most vegetables in italian restaurants)
Desert: Tiramisu. It was okay. For me a bit too little taste. It was nice, but could be better. Score: 7.
Highlight: the staff. Roberto was our ober, and he just did very well. How? When he put down our horse filet, he said: āif itās not good, just tell meā. Maybe you donāt think too much of it, but trust me, when criticizing food, I have had too many italians trying to convince me the meat is good when it just wasnāt. Like when you say rare but you well-done? Know what I mean?
Most italians are not good at admitting negatives about the food⦠really⦠so for me when he said that.. a solid 10. Top...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food at Sa Domu Sarda was absolutely very good and compliments to the chef and his team. The pork in Cacciatora style was full of flavour and delicately cooked. The pasta campinades were firmly cooked but withstood the overall finish, rich sauce, and delicate. The Natalis with white lamb ragout also a dish with amazing flavours and delicate finish. The pasta sauces overall were delicious and can not be waisted, so be ready to mop up the sauces. We also had a side of Chard that was steamed and drenched in great olive oil. No desert could be fitted in, unfortunately. we need to skip lunch next time to try their Tiramisu. The food here is very good.
The service was unpleasant and left a lot to desire. no one comes to the table to check or even offer another glass of wine refill. The farewell was not exciting, and with this, we felt the chef was being let down by the FOH team. It can be better much better. Yes, we are tourists, and yes, you might see us only once and never again. The remembering experience will stick for a bit while we are still in Pula. Unlike other restaurants where we have booked twice more each this week, unfortunately, it won't be the same at Sa Domu Sarda. No photos of the dishes apart...
