We were referred to this place by a waiter from another restaurant, as my sister was after the ravioli di ricotta con sugo di maiale (which seem to be the traditional dish in Ragusa). My mum and her got this and said it was delicious, something you don't find everyday! I got the pasta with aubergine and it also was really special: the tomato sauce was superb, I could really taste the difference. My dad got a white parmigiana, he liked it. The restaurant was empty so we ate in peace, in a nice corner close to the door, well ventilated from wind flow (it was a hot day). The owner, who served us, was doing everything with extreme kindness and he also offered us a starter with bites of pizza and bread with oil, for the wait (which wasn't longer than 15 mins anyway, but we were not in a rush so we didn't mind at all). We also got the orange gello and nespole gelato - everything was presented in an elegant way and was nice. I felt at peace and ate well, would highly recommend!

It took them about one hour to serve our starters. The service was very slow. It is a family run place, and there were many people ordering around the same time. So it's understandable, but we were very hungry, so the wait was long. They serve a mini appetizer bread with sun-dried tomatoes. They brought me gluten-free bread. Our starter was octopus on top of beans with some lemon shavings. It was a unique dish and tasty. I had a gluten-free vongole, which was really good, but my partner was not very satisfied with his rabit pasta. The atmosphere is very quiet. There were mainly couples but also a few families. Other dishes around us looked good, and I think they have a good selection of wines. But it was a shame as it was really slow service and perhaps the not friendliest either.

Probably the best restaurant in Ragusa Ibla. We had the tortino di Ragusa a to start. That was good but I think for 2 people it's too much cheese. My husband had the cavati pasta and liked it a lot, I opted for the fish of the day. It was salmon and we'll prepared, crisp outside and not overcooked inside. We also had the caponata di melanzane. It's all eggplant so it's different than how others are preparing it. If you like eggplant this is a must. I loved this dish the most of all we tried. The connolo was very creamy inside, the shell a bit more tough than some but still good They bring out a small plate , an amuse bouche, and some of their focaccia to start. Lovely people, very friendly owners and staff. We would go here again!

This is the second time I have visited Cucina e Vino. The reason we came back from so far away is because the food is great. Local dishes and made with quality ingredients, their menu is even endorsed by Slow Food. We had the donkey steak and the tuna which were good (be aware that the donkey steak should be served with smoked salt, they brought sea salt and I had to asked for the smoked salt). However, everything else is slightly lacking. In total we were at the restaurant for more than 2hr30mins and only had starters and a main. We were hoping to have dessert however, the waiters never came to clear our table. In fact, the table wasn't even cleared before we paid our bill. After trying to call the waiter (who just ignored the customers around him) I went to the front desk where the staff were unapologetic for the service we had received. I think it was such a shame because it dampened our whole meal, which as I stated earlier was fantastic. If you want good Sicilian food I recommend this place, but it just lacks a good...
