La Piazzetta Ristorante — Restaurant in Ragusa

No-go/tourist trap. I had to wait for 1.5h and did not get my food. There was no beer available. We got ignored by staff. Nobody apologised or delivered an explanation. In my opinion one of those places which are lucky to have a great location but have absolutely no clue about gastronomy and being a friendly host.

Edit/answer: Instead of trying to find the mistake with your customers I would suggest you take the criticism to improve on your service. Firstly: I am sure you don't know which guest you are referring to, as I didn't give a name and we were not the only guests complaining. Secondly: We were never told about a waiting time and as you are mentioning "freshly" made: We ordered platters of cold cuts and cheeses, which do not need to be made by you. Thirdly: I don't need any advice from a tourist trap operator on anything. Nonetheless I wish you best of luck and hope that other customers don't have to have the same...

Disappointed because after the food was 1 and a half hours late 1) the ravioli were very over cooked, 2) the seeds of the tomatoes in the salad were sprouting and 3) the mussels(vongole) in the risotto were all closed! Only 1 out of 4 plates was served good to eat. When we complained, the owner said that he only buys the best produce but it is very obvious that it is not the case and there is no quality control in the kitchen. The owner even went as far as to bad mouth us with the other patrons in their language, which we understood perfectly and told him so at the till. We went to dine at Ristorante La Piazzetta in Ragusa on May 12/19. I would recommend NOT eating at this restaurant. First we were hustled into the restaurant by a very assertive man whom we assume is the owner. We ordered seafood; calamari and prawns. The calamari was actually squid, very tough and difficult to eat, the prawns were huge and tasteless. The table next to us discussed how horrible their food was.We both admitted we had been taken. However at the end of the night, the same patronizing man was more than happy to take our money as we left. This sort of eating experience is very detrimental to the tourism industry of Sicily. We give this retaurant one star only and again encourage others...
