Magic Place in Ragusa Ibla At the end of July 2024, I visited this enchanting spot in Ragusa Ibla for a pizza tasting with friends. The experience was nothing short of delightful, and I strongly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a pleasurable evening while admiring the breathtaking sunset and the city’s landscape as it lights up at night.
Ambiance/Environment This place offers a magical atmosphere, especially during the evening when the lights of the old city come alive. The setting on the terrace provides a serene and picturesque view, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed and scenic night out, without time pressure to leave the place.
Customer Service The owner was incredibly professional and accommodating, going above and beyond to meet the needs of our group. We had a few special requests, and he handled them with ease, ensuring everyone was satisfied. The staff was generally okay, though I believe that bringing in more experienced personnel could elevate the overall service quality on the terrace.
Food The pizzas were a highlight, featuring unique local ingredients such as capuliato and Ragusan cheese, which you won’t easily find outside the Ragusan region.
Price The pricing was fair, especially considering the "giro pizza" option, which included unlimited rounds, drinks (water, beers), and a digestif (amaro).
Accessibility While the place is a gem, its location poses some accessibility challenges. The site is not directly reachable by car, which might be inconvenient for some visitors. I recommend parking at nearby public lots like Parcheggio della Repubblica or taking advantage of free parking spots in the area. Be aware that some adjacent streets are within a restricted traffic zone (ZTL), so plan accordingly.
Unique Selling Points The combination of local ingredients and the stunning terrace view make this place stand out. It's an experience that captures the essence of Ragusa Ibla, both in its culinary offerings and its picturesque setting.
Conclusion Overall, this place is a must-visit. In fact, I recommend going at least once to fully appreciate both the setting and the menu. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, this is an experience you...
Read moreWe were a group of 8 people going there for dinner. We've tried both the meat and the fish menu. Overall I have to say I'm not satisfied. The price/quality ratio is not great, as you don't get what you've paid for.
The caponata was good, they put almonds which add some extra flavor, and is a good addition. The mixed fried fish instead it was substandard, in terms of variety and in terms of taste.
My friends thought that the meat was properly cooked and it was a 200g portion, so nothing to complain there. The problems were more on the pastas with fish: the portions were very small and the fish looked (and tasted) like it was frozen.
Good selection of local wines, the waiters should be more prepared when being asked advice on what to choose based on your order.
The location is fantastic, you get a breath-taking view of Ragusa Ibla, which is lovely at sunset. Great atmosphere, elegant and sophisticated. That's really what you pay for in your bill.
Overall is not too bad, but there are better alternatives there. I wouldn't...
Read moreIf only I could give lower than 1 star. For what they are charging this is not worth the value unless you’re just here for the view on the terrace and ordering a beer or two. On second thought, that may even take you 40 minutes to do the ordering… which wouldn’t be too bad if your intention was to sit on the terrace for as long as you want to.
We are a group of 10 and it literally took us more than 45 minutes to order. Only half of the drinks showed up at the 1-hour mark. The pizza and eggplant seems to be okay. No real complaints from the guests; avoid ordering the fish and meat at all costs!!! Don’t say you’re not warned. I wish I had read the reviews prior to ordering. The meat was so over cooked it’s like eating cardboards.
To sum up, you’re paying more for the views than the food. Take a stroll and find a proper lookout, save your money. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant...
