Abuela Flor Locanda — Restaurant in Rimini

Just had one of the worst experiences in a restaurant of my whole life. We went to this restaurant and queued up for a table. The Italian couple in front of us were seated in the outside terrace area, which was barely occupied. We asked for a table for two in the same area, we were told that they were fully booked and we were sat in a table in the back corner of the restaurant. This felt like casual racism against English people, who are very much in the minority in this area. We then sat down and waited to order. It was 20 minutes before our wine order was taken. When we did eventually order food and it was served, the food was fantastic and well presented. After eating my wife returned from the toilet and upon sitting down, cut her heel on a pin sticking out of the bottom of the chair. We asked for some help and a lovely member of staff got some plasters etc. She treated the wound and then we asked for the bill as we just wanted to leave. The waitress tried to bring us a jar of old sweets over and a limoncello. I said can we just have the bill. They then brought the wrong bill over with a 20% discount. This bill was more than our original bill. I went to the manager and explained the situation and stated that we weren't happy and our evening had been spoiled. He then brought the correct bill over with no discount. I said that I wasn't happy and showed him the blood on the napkin, where my wife had dabbed her wound. He picked the bill up and rudely said ' no charge, maybe this is what you want'. This riled me as we weren't trying to get a free meal. I then threw €50 on the table just to prove this point. Ein sehr schönes Lokal, etwas Hipstermässig aber schön. Räucherstäbchen, Buddha Statuen, Kellner in privater Kleidung.

Zu erst einmal zu dem positiven: die Nudeln mit Hummer waren gut. Die Hauptspeise auch.

Leider jedoch gibt es hier und da Details bei denen nicht zu Ende gedacht wurde. Spicy Mayonnaise, die weder spicy noch irgendwie besonders ist. Lime-Guacamale, die leider geschmacksneutral rüberkommt.

Die panierten Garnelen als Vorspeise bestehen zu 60% aus Panade und triefen vor Fett. Das Fisch Tartar ist mit rein gar nichts angemacht. Dafür bekommt man Gewürze, Öl, Sojasauce und Tabasko an den Tisch gestellt. Zum selber würzen. Führt dazu dass die ohnehin sehr kleinen Tische komplett überladen sind. Der Likör am Ende (Limoncello) war leider überhaupt nicht gekühlt - was ich in Italien noch nie erlebt habe und einfach nicht gut schmeckt.

Fazit: ein vielversprechendes Konzept, welches nicht zu Ende gedacht wurde. Dafür stimmt die Preis Leistung noch nicht ganz. Die Servicekräfte servieren die Speisen ohne ein Wort darüber zu verlieren, was wir da eigentlich bekommen und es gab auch keinerlei Nachfrage ob uns das Essen schmeckt oder wir noch was trinken wollen. Ich hoffe die notwendige Raffinesse zieht hier noch ein, dann wäre es wirklich rund. So gibt es leider zu viel Spielraum nach oben, als dass ich das Lokal erneut besuchen würde.

PS: es ist wirklich EXTREM laut dort. Unterhaltungen sind unmöglich. Ansonsten ist der Laden IMMER voll. Unbedingt reservieren. Was uns auch noch negativ aufgefallen ist: bei der Speisekarte auf Englisch fehlen einfach fast 50% der Gerichte....ich kann es nicht verstehen. Auf der italienischen Speisekarte gibt es doppelt so viele Gerichte. Warum können wir nicht nachvollziehen denn die italienische Karte wurde uns nicht Mal gezeigt - das merkten wir nur zufällig als wir die italienische Karte am Eingang verglichen haben....

After a year we made a reservation and visited a beautiful restaurant. The staff has significant problems communicating in English. We ordered Tuna, which was served on a cold plate and therefore the mashed potatoes were cold.
