I had the pleasure of dining at Casamatta on Via Cicerone and was absolutely impressed. The food was outstanding — from the rich, flavorful Parmigiana to the perfectly cooked Rigatoni alla Carbonara, every bite was a delight. Even the San Benedetto water and the fresh bread were a nice touch.
A special shoutout to Roberto, our waiter, who made the experience even better. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm, making us feel right at home. His service added such a personal and welcoming vibe to the evening.

Read moreI write this as an English speaking visitor. I visited with a small group on tour and we were all welcomed warmly and patiently with our rudimentary Italian. Between us we had both preparations of artichoke, a cacio e pepe, the carbonara, tartare sliders, and several other dishes.
Throughout our stay, I can say that it was the very pinnacle in taste and service for Roman style dishes we had. We left with clean plates and full hearts. I really appreciated the staff's concern and recommendations for our meal and wine pairing.

The only little mistake we probably made was sitting in the outdoor area where they were building a hotel opposite so it was dusty. They had another nicer outdoor dining area on the other entrance (restaurant is long). The food was very good and the prices reasonable. My husband said their artichoke was the best he had over a few days. Service was friendly. We would have returned for another meal if our hotel wasn’t at Spagna....
