I like to share my letter that I wrote to the Guest Relation desk.
Dear Ms. Battaglia,
I wanted to write to you to let you know that sometimes in life, someone goes so far beyond expectations that it literally changes a person’s life. You are that person. I am still incredibly overwhelmed by my recent visit to the NH Hotel Centro. I could not have imagined that my family and I would be met with such courtesy hospitality and kindness. Your attentiveness to me and my family provided us with one of our most memorable vacations of our lives, and we appreciate you more than I can possibly express.
As everyone else, I made my reservation from the NH Hotel website. I planned to spend 3 nights in Rome and 2 nights in Florence. I booked a basic room and got my confirmation. At the bottom of the reservation, there was a section where it asks if I need any special requests. I wrote that It will be my first visit to Rome with my wife, so I would like a nice room with a view if possible.
After traveling 22 hours from Los Angeles, California to Rome (we stopped in London and took my 90 year-old Aunt to lunch) we arrived at 11:30 p.m. We were beyond exhausted. I checked in and got the keys to the room. I turned on the lights and to my incredible surprise, I saw a huge suite with a beautiful view of St. Peter. My immediate reaction was that the front desk made a huge mistake and gave me the wrong keys. However, my wife pointed my attention to some beautiful writing on a huge mirror that covered one of the walls in the room. The mirror spelled out my and my wife’s names and expressed to us that we enjoy our lucky experience. I could not believe the happy shock I was experiencing. My mind was racing to come up with a name of anyone I knew who had the knowledge of my stay at this hotel – who wanted to surprise me and arranged all of this with the hotel. I woke up in the morning and I called two of my Italian friends who had knowledge of my visit and they both said they had no idea what I was talking about. They told me they could not take any credit for it. So I went to the Reception Desk to find out who had arranged for such an incredulous room and experience, and it was no other than Ms. Pina from the hotel. Ms. Pina saw my request from the website, and made our wishes come true. Not only did she go out of her way to make our stay at the NH Hotel Centro one of the best experiences of my life, but she also wrote to her colleague in Florence at the NH Hotel Porta Rossa to let them know of my arrival. Ms. Pina went above and beyond anything we could have even thought of asking for. She is simply amazing.
This is a wondrous city. It’s a phenomenal hotel in a great location. I could not more highly recommend this...
Read moreI recently had the immense pleasure of staying here, and I can confidently say that it was one of the most exceptional experiences I've ever had at a hotel. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism that set the tone for the entire stay.
Staff & Service: The staff here are nothing short of extraordinary. Every single person I encountered went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. Special shoutout to Elena, the events manager, who was an absolute star. Her attention to detail, kindness, and willingness to accommodate every request made our stay not just comfortable, but truly special. The bartenders were also top-notch, crafting the most delicious cocktails (especially the spritz) with a friendly smile and making the evenings at the hotel bar an absolute delight.
Facilities: The facilities here are world-class. The rooms are impeccably clean, stylishly decorated, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The beds are incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep.
Dining: The food here is simply divine. Breakfast was a daily highlight, with a spread that catered to every taste. The fresh pastries, perfectly brewed coffee, and a variety of hot and cold options were all prepared with the utmost care. We also dined at the hotel restaurant, and the experience was nothing short of culinary perfection. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and presented beautifully.
Location & Guidance: The hotel’s location is ideal, providing easy access to all the major attractions. But what truly set it apart was the way the staff, especially Elena, helped us navigate Rome. Their recommendations for local spots, hidden gems, and must-see attractions were spot on, and they even helped arrange seamless transportation. It felt like having a personal tour guide and concierge all in one!
Overall Experience: I would recommend this hotel to every single person traveling to Rome, without hesitation. Whether you’re in Rome for business or leisure, this hotel offers an experience that is unparalleled. The combination of outstanding service, luxurious facilities, and the genuine warmth of the staff makes it a true gem. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer. I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip!
Thank you for an...
Read moreThe only good thing about this hotel is the location. It makes it so easy to get to any of the sites. But this is where it ends.
We arrived in Rome at around 9am and made our way to the hotel to drop off our bags. We came back at the end of the day, were given room keys, our stay was for 3 nights and we had pre-paid.
We asked for our bags. We waited in the hotel lobby and the door man came back with 2 of our 3 bags. We then explained there was an additional large suitcase and my husband went to the baggage area to identify which suitcase was ours.
We got to our room, my husband went straight to sleep and I went to use the bathroom which was far from clean. I went down to the reception desk, where there were many people checking in. I just handed the receptionist the image of the shower head (attached) I didn’t use any words because I didn’t want to make a scene. There was no apology, he just handed me a card to a new room and went to take the card for the old room. I explained I needed the old card to move my belongings.
I woke my husband and move to the other room. It was better but it wasn’t exactly clean. The mirror was dirty, it was also damaged. The air condition seems to turn on and off as it pleases.
However this biggest issue with this room was it had a connecting door to another room 🤦🏻♀️ this meant we could hear the people in the room next door and they could hear us. At times it sounded as though we were all in the same room. The sound proofing in that hotel was also just poor because at night we could hear the people above us stomping. It was just bad.
The service at the hotel was poor to be honest. This is not a 4 or a 3 star hotel.
I’ve stayed at many hotels and this by far was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I do not recommend this...
