After 10 days in Italy, Ramen sounds like a great plan for a change. Unfortunately, this establishment leave us disappointed and a wrong decision we have make. It was utterly awful. The broth was blend and zero flavor. Close to eating ramen out of boiling water. Added soy sauce still it was underwhelming. We would give zero star for the broth. Eggs and meat was only okay. Ramen = broth have to be the star of the dish. Umami taste? Forget about it. It is awful to serve "ramen" at this standard to anyone. Worst ramen I had in my lifetime. We are intermediate foodie (ramen) and with moderate expectation from out of native country. Prices is steep too. It is an insult to this Japanese comfort food (ramen). Gyoza and sake could be the main dish in their menu. For the sanity of Japanese food culture, please change the name ramen to something else. As it is a disgrace. We went back to the apartment and cook instant ramen after this awful dinner. If this is the best ramen in town, I can't imagine what other dog shite is out there. Truly...
Read moreThis is a very busy place. I got there right when they opened at 12:30 and as I had not made a reservation, they said that I could sit at the counter but had to be done by 1 pm… I said I could be. The menu was only on a scannable QR code. I got the beef ramen and gyoza. The gyoza are handmade by the cook. They had a pork flavor and were piggy pink. Not bad. Not super. Cooked right. The ramen arrived a few minutes later. The broth was very subtle with a slight salty flavor. The noodles are hand made and square. But boring. They were also cooked right-to the tooth. But it was not so that I wanted to keep eating. I guess this place’s ramen is not my style. The beef slices were nice layers of fatty and meaty. This restaurant is packed. Even in 8 C weather, people were sitting outside without any heaters! That is dedication! But at 14 euro for a bowl of soup, this place seems to be in the same tradition of most...
Read moreI'd been hunting for a Ramen bar for a while and finally had the opportunity to try this one. The friendly owner from Argentina has a great story to tell and recounted her culinary adventures while helping us order. My son (who is a budding food critic) and I settled on a mix of dishes to give our stomachs a true overview of the kitchen. The Chuka Pan (mini Japanese sandwiches) and Onigiri rice appetizers with various fillings were great. The main event didn't dissapoint either, and from the broth it was clear care and quality was part of the preparation. My only reservation would be with the gyoza which although good could not compete with the ones I had at Higuma in Paris last year. The bottom line was that the food, reception and atmosphere were excellent and I look forward to...
