Fantastic restaurant. Absolutely fantastic. 100% focus on great, tasty, original, high-quality food from the Rome / Lazio region + sophisticated yet very affordable wines, mostly from the region. Do not be intimated: no English menu, just basic English communication with the lovely and attentive staff, and the interior design does not necessarily reflect the amazing kitchen and cuisine. Yet, this restaurant represents what every guest is looking for: every item on the menu that we ordered, both primi and secundi courses, has been stunning, the setting (and prices) allow for a lovely dinner, enough outdoor and indoor spaces, long opneing hours, the chef visited our table - just the definition of authenticity without any non-sense. This place is fantastic. The menu is Roman (by which I mean it’s filled with traditional dishes that the citizens of Rome eat). The menu has a fantastic balance of dishes and a beautiful wine list. The prices are absolutely excellent. I visited this place twice and would have gone more if I had more time. If you’re in the area don’t hesitate to visit - my rudimentary attempts at Italian were met with grace, no eyebrows were lifted when I wanted to try the tripe (literally, when in Rome, right?) and they accommodated walk ins. Food so good it disappeared from the plates before we even thought about taking a picture. Meatballs better than what my friend's father makes and it's not easy to beat that. Bacon so crisp and packed with flavour that explodes in your mouth. All the sauces feel like poetry. Even cold desserts warm your heart, but "soft heart" (chocolate) is actually warm so that feeling is tenfold. Service also great just like home, automatucally puts you in good mood.
