Panificio Mare' — Restaurant in Rome

A true gem in Rome! It was our first time in Italy, and this place perfectly reflects why people fall in love with the country. From the warm welcome to the genuine kindness of everyone working there, we felt truly at home. The croissant was a solid 10/10 and the coffee absolutely delicious — I would honestly come back to Rome just to have my breakfast here every day.

Both my wife and I were treated with such respect and care. When the lovely lady serving us and the gentleman at the counter found out we were Algerians visiting Italy for the first time, they went the extra mile to make us feel special. They even shared great recommendations for places to visit in Rome and beyond.

This little spot made me fall in love with Italian hospitality. Highly recommended!

Would you pay 5 euros for this sandwich? If the answer is no, then avoid this place.

I went in after lunch time (2.45pm) to get some bread for a late lunch, saw they were discarding these grilled aubergines and zucchini (as they were closing) and decided to get some to accompany the soup I had left in the office.

The lady that served me didn't even weigh the vegetables and bread - which is what you have to do in Italy, as everything is priced in kilos - and punched directly 5 euros in the cashier machine for what would normally cost €30c (for the bread) and at most 2 euros for 30 grams of grilled veggie (and i'm being generous here with my estimate here).

This is very dishonest. I understand it helps to support your local businesses but not when they behave dishonestly like this....

Ho preso 5 pizzette rotonde al pomodoro, e gli ho pagate 3€....per curiosita sono venuta a casa e ho pesato una ad una, la media sta intorno ai 10gr, quindi ho pagato 0.60€ a pizzetta....al chilo sarebbe allucinante solo pensarlo cosa ti costano queste pizzette Personalmente non ci metto mai piu piede, che poi le recensioni per quanto riguarda alle materie prime li vedo proprio senza senso......non ho la possibilità di rispondere al proprietario quindi modifico la recensione...mettiamo che le pizzette non costano 60€ al chilo ma come dice lei su 25-30€ non lontano da li al chilo costano 11€ quindi lascio ai clienti decidere quello che vogliono, poi aggiungo che noi per lavoro usiamo.una BILANCIA DI ALTISSIMA PRECISIONE, quindi se lei mi dice che la mia bilancia è rotta sarebbe un disastro per noi e i nostri clienti sbagliare 25 grammi, detto cio vi auguro...
