We ventured out of our comfort zone to a neighborhood, Garbatella, where we'd never been. We took Uber from the Spanish Steps for under 20 Euros and were welcomed warmly by Elisabetta (she of the turquoise hair) and her young and efficient staff. We were among the first to arrive for our 8:00 PM dinner res but the place was soon packed with locals, who all seemed to know each other, making for a busy Tuesday dinner service. Everything was amazing. We started with fried shrimp encrusted with thin pasta noodles, tried two daily specials, the fava bean soup and the potato ravioli, and a highpoint, the Rombo (turbot) involtini, which was accompanied by the famous Garbatella Potatoes! Not sure why they were famous, but very good nonetheless! Delicious carafe of Frascati for 11 Euros too! All and all a delicious dinner in a genuine local gem!...

Made with rice flour, they were wonderfully light and crispy – truly a must-try! For dessert, their special homemade ice cream was a revelation. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone looking for a memorable meal with outstanding service and delicious,...
