Outstanding, one of the finest restaurants we’ve ever encountered on our travels through Europe. By pure chance my wife and I found it on The Fork. We went there with no special expectations, but were soon knocked out. The small menu (always a good sign) shows a deep appreciation of flavors both alone and in combination, e.g. pork belly with fig glaze, octopus on a light cloud of whipped potatoes laced with lemon, and crostini with anchovies, burrata, honey and lemon rind. Ingredients are consistently fresh. The breads are fantastic, something we can’t say is common in our beloved Italy. The restaurant pays special attention to wine and offers a wonderful selection of bottles, many of them displayed on the tastefully lit shelves inside (however we sat outside to enjoy a pleasant breeze). Truly we were amazed to discover a restaurant of such quality in a neighborhood well off the tourist junket. Also the prices are extremely reasonable. The staff is very welcoming. Starting with the host, he was excellent and welcoming. He spoke enough English to make us feel comfortable. The starter of olives and croutons were a good blend of soft and crunchy. We had the Burrata toasta and vegetariano toasta paired with pinot grigio. Personally, we liked the vegetariano better, but we also like to try new things. Main course was the risotto paired with riesling and pasta parmesan with mushrooms paired with a red which we didnt catch the name of. Both absolutely perfectly paced and delicious!
