Trattoria Etruria 39 — Restaurant in Rome

I never try to say anything bad about a business and I try to find positive things to say....but after the way I was treated at this restaurant, I have to sway people away from coming here. I arrived at about 2130, when the place closes at 2300, and was told I would be seated by 2230. After waiting outside and seeing a.couple people being seated, I thought, they probably have a reservation, it makes sense. This place is reviewed highly so I'm sure some people make reservations. At about 2220, I saw a group of 6 people, arrive and overheard in English that they would be seated in about 10 minutes. By that time, I had been waiting for an hour! Then, the hostess comes outside at 2230 and seats the party of 6 before me! She tells me "one more minute" and after waiting till 2245, I left to go to another restaurant. I did not try the food but after the customer service I received, it did not seem appetizing. Do yourself a favor and don't...

Attention all tourists, avoid and run away.

An absolute nightmare.

1. we stood around waiting to be seated
2. we waited for menus and then waited some more for our order to be taken. It was not busy at all
3. waiter (a younger lady) was just horrible. Either didn’t like her job or didn’t like us. Whatever the reason, she was rude and unprofessional.
4. the food came out. i took one bite, and my wife took one bite of her dish and we both knew we couldn’t even take a second bite. We have never had that happen before. Truly a rare moment.
5. the waiters comes over, doesn’t ask us if we liked the meal or not. Just says “are you done?” And takes the plates. Then makes me wait to pay and by this time there is...

Well… Just my personal opinion: not restaurant food at all. It’s something you expect to try visiting relatives living far away and not very keen on cooking. Maybe that was the point - “grandma meal “, which is preparing for the large group of people without strong concern about taste or flavour. All food in this trattoria we tried was prepared in advance, with I assume the same scenario: find some meet and veggies in the kitchen, chopped all in pieces and kept several hours in oven. Both dishes we ordered were oversalted, broiled , presentations is missing obviously. On the plus side- service was great, house red wine was great and served with the right temperature...
