Pizzeria Sorbillo — Restaurant in Salerno

We were looking for place to eat while we were waiting for our train in Salerno. Found this Pizza place nearby and heard it was napoli style pizza which we wanted to try. We went in and the waitress with blonde curly hair and glasses was very helpful, although she spoke italian she could understand what we were saying in english and we told her we needed to catch a train in 30 mins and if she could make us a pizza in time. 5 mins later 2 vegetarian pizzas with drinks for 4! Very fast, friendly and great pizza. The best pizza we tasted in Italy, it was thin and had good crisp on the edges, seriously good and price wasn't much! I had to give a tip to the waitress for her help and friendly service :) Will definitely come back here again when in Salerno. Thank you!

Honestly, I had high expectations based on the reviews and photo’s but I was quite disappointed. Me and my girlfriend had a quick stop for a pizza and even though the terrace was cleaned, we had to stand and wait next to the terrace for 5min for the restaurant to actually ‘open’ before we could sit there. The pizzas were least to say undercooked and I got maybe 3 pieces of prosciutto cotto on my pizza. Taste of pizzas were not quite what you’d expect too. Dough was flavorless and I’d go as far to say mushy. Service was not great either - waiter could only pronounce yes and no and the rest would be plain italian. One of the best pizzas of our lives, if not the best! Everything else was amazing too including the beef meatballs and salted caramel dessert. Service was impeccable even though we had to speak Italian due to virtually no English of the waitress but this just added to the authenticity of the restaurant. The pizza dough was so light and fluffy and resulted in no bloatation whatsoever it explains why pizza is not really an unhealthy dish in Italy since the ingredients were clearly super fresh. This pizza easily competes with the best of Naples and the rest of the world. Thank you so much we will definitely be back next time in Salerno and perhaps even justify an entire visit to Salerno....
