Ivan Italian Chef — Restaurant in Salerno

Absolutely amazing pizzas and salads! We arrived in Salerno on our way to Milan and stumbled upon Ivan’s place as we were looking for lunch. We were lured in by the yummy smell :) We ordered ‘The Chef’ pizza which was eggplant, bacon and ricotta cheese with a potato and green salad which was so good. Decided to order another pizza as it was so tasty and cheap (4 - 5 euros per pizza) and got the ‘Volcano’ pizza which was cheesy deliciousness! When we left, we decided to grab another salad for our train trip to Milan, that’s how much we loved this place! I would say that this was the best pizza we had in Italy so far, we have been to Capri, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello and Ivan’s pizza is the best. Excellent and cheap! If you want to eat well and try the flavor of the region, you definitely need to go there. The customer service is great, they talked with me in my poor Italian and the where patient, also they explained to me one of the main dishes in English (this in not common in the region) and one of the guys finally, talked to me in Spanish (it is even less common 🤭) The menu was 9 euros including water and primo, secondo and sidedish. This restaurant offers quick, on-the-go type meals which are so reasonably priced and are delicious! And Ivan and his family are amazing people. When we arrived in Salerno, we had paid for accommodation and nobody let us in, leaving us stranded. We went to Ivan's restaurant where they happily served us, allowed us to use their wifi and even arranged alternative accommodation for us. Thank you so much Ivan and family.
