Steak Stube — Restaurant in Salten-Schlern - Salto-Sciliar

We ate here after a long day of hiking and had serious regrets. We ordered the ravioli and the ribeye steak done medium rare. Little did we know this would result in us both having food poisoning the night of and the day after. We know there was a high probability it was from the steak because we skipped lunch and the only meals were from Linder Cycling Hotel's breakfast and dinner at Steak Stube.

The restaurant is also tiny and acoustics are so poor. We heard the couple next to us chewing loudly.

Service is also awful - the servers are extremely slow and have no urgency in taking orders or attending to you.

Best steak all around. Better to reserve in advance. Very pleasant staff and attention to detail (ask questions to know more). consice menu with amazing combinations. For starters the warm bread with a taste of cumin was amazing as well a slice of veal with pesto. Ordered ribeye steak (try picanha also) with side of charred onions (must try), potatoes with cream, cabbage with sour hints. Sauces that came were great combo. Nice restaurant in a lovely hotel. Unfortunately some dishes aren’t that special and exceptional as they should based on the opinion of the service team. For our taste the steak eg is by far too smoky. Although there are some huge 1000g+ steaks offered, served with several sauces and side dishes, we would be happy if there’s a normal size and fine tasting tenderloin on the menu.
