Ristorante Nello — Restaurant in San Casciano in Val di Pesa

Ended up with 10 family members in restaurant Nello, the old name of the restaurant that was only recently taken over by the new owners. This restaurant is different from anything else you will experience in the wider region. And only for very good reasons. The reservation process went smoothly, the website was clear and the design fits well with restaurant’s atmosphere, as does the interior. We selected the 5 course menu, and were happy that the portions were adjusted to the number of courses. We did not select the pairing wine menu, and that is a good excuse for us to come back one day 😀. The menu is very diverse, there’s something for everyone’s preference and also our kids tried the full menu. The courses itself…… it was magnificent, and excellent. The presentation, the ingredients and the taste… a Michelin-star will hang on the wall in the foreseeable future! We had the pleasure to meet the chef and we’e also introduced to the wine cellar. A cozy place, with some very old wines (not all drinkable). The hostess and the chef gave us a unique experience. Oh, and by the way, the price was very, very reasonable. Please don’t go here if you want to go out for dinner. Go here if you and your company want to have an experience. Celebrate an occasion. Want to dine in a Michelin star...

The best dinner experience we had in Tuscany, an authentic local experience.

The staff is impeccable- very attentive, taking lots of time to explain not only the menu, but also their detailed origin (if you want to).

Everything we ate was incredible; pastas were great, light and with a perfect ratio of sauce-to-pasta. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of ingredients. Most items were organic, showing their respect to the ingredients. Their olive oil is highly dip-able (especially considering the quality of the breads provided).

The highlight was the grilled chicken. It was absolutely perfect. Juicy and flavorful, and with a nice kick of spice.

All in all an amazing experience, which will be added to our list of places to visit again.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining here during my trip to Italy, and it was truly one of the highlights of the entire trip. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The food was beyond incredible — every dish was perfectly prepared, full of authentic flavors, and beautifully presented. You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into every plate.

The atmosphere was equally amazing — warm, inviting, and full of that classic Italian charm that makes you want to sit and enjoy for hours. Whether you’re inside or outside, it’s the kind of place where you immediately feel relaxed and taken care of.
