Beautiful setting, however, our experience was hugely diluted by the rather rude service. They could not find our reservation despite the fact we showed them a WhatsApp confirmation message with the owner that morning. We were given a table away from the water “because other people called before you” the waiter said (the waterside tables remained empty during our meal).
The €7 cover charge per person for bread (that was stale and tasteless) is a joke. And the crudités came with a dead fruit fly! (See photo). This not only questions hygiene standards but the quality of the offering versus the price.
The fish we had was just ok nothing special and the wine was also not memorable at all. The best this place can offer is the view and the setting.
I would recommend to avoid and instead go to a more friendly establishment with better service and attitude.
Unfortunately a lot of establishments with stinking views or settings tend to overcharge customers whilst providing a mediocre service at best. This is the case of this restaurant this is clearly an expensive...
Read moreMy experience at restaurant Capo Nord on the island of Elba was truly a major disappointment. I had expected that a Michelin-recommended restaurant would offer a high-quality culinary experience, but this is by far the worst restaurant I have ever been to that bears the Michelin recommendation.
It all began with the tasting menu, which was more of a disappointment menu. Each dish resembled the previous one, with an overabundance of swordfish. I understand that a restaurant can have a specialty, but this was just dull and lacked creativity.
As for the service, it was painfully evident that they had absolutely no interest in our satisfaction. They were slow, indifferent, and barely spoke English. When we returned the main course and tried to pay, they only charged a fraction of the total cost. It was as if they just wanted to get rid of us.
The prices were exorbitant for what we received. In summary, if you're looking for a great dining experience, I highly recommend going to Sapereta and SoleGrosso instead...
Read moreDisappointing. We were looking forward to going after reading all the great reviews. Unfortunately there is no online booking and no response to two emails we sent but we were booked in when phoning directly, so that's the way to go.
On arrival, the venue didn't disappoint with some great views and a lovely setting. Some low-level music would have added to the atmosphere though. Things start to go down hill with the service, a long wait for a drinks order to be taken with a waiter bizarrely indicating he wouldn't come to take our order while our menus were open?!
Spritz were served in thick Ikea-style tumblers, rather than proper glasses. The food was very average for the area, which we visit regularly. The Timorasso wine was fantastic though and would recommend.
Service continued to be poor when paying the bill - the waiter seemed as though he didn't want to be there and no comment of "I hope you enjoyed your meal", "have a nice evening" or other pleasantries.
Great potential here, needs to try...
