I took the ferry in from Santa Margherita. Once you get off the ferry you need to walk a little bit and wait in front of a pharmacy for a shuttle pick up to take you to the hotel. The shuttle comes every 10-15 minutes. It also has wifi in the shuttle! The ride is quick (about 5-7 minutes) and the driver was super friendly. I made a reservation for 1pm right when they opened and I’m so happy I did! It was really nice and quiet in the restaurant and the views are absolutely incredible. I ordered a water, wine, a starter and a main. They serve you some bread/grissini sticks as well. The salad was beyond incredible. The quinoa chips were so good, the flavours of the salad and presentation were unforgettable. The main I ordered was the Tigullio fish mixed grill. I didn’t even know what I ordered when I ordered it but it was incredible. It was literally every kind of fish that’s in the sea below that they serve. Lobster, swordfish, shrimp, squid, octopus, crab and a few others. I didn’t know how to remove the shell from the fish so I asked the staff to do it for me which they did with no questions! It also came with a side of grilled vegetables which were a bit warm. They weren’t great. I didn’t order dessert because I was so full but the staff were kind enough to give me a few sweets at the end anyway! Great service, yet sometimes slow and there was a bit of a language barrier at times however the experience was lovely and I would recommend it for sure.

I was under the assumption that I had a reservation on July 25, but I received the attached email from the restaurant indicating that I missed my reservation on July 24. I was very confused as I wasn’t even in Portofino on that day. I did not receive any reminders or communication from the restaurant except that email indicating my card was charged a whopping 200 euros! It is common practice from other establishments to receive communication leading up to the reservation (for example Open Table or The Fork), but I didn’t get anything. They claimed to have called me multiple times, but I didn’t receive any calls. This seems a bit sketchy, as they could have tried emailing or text messaging me as this would be easy to validate that they did in fact attempt to reach me. I replied to their email within an hour and attempted to reach an adequate resolution to no avail. To their credit - they did offer for me to come in on the 26th of July, but we were not in Portofino on that date. For those reading this review, I recommend reaching out ahead of your reservation to confirm the date and time so that you aren’t stuck with a nasty 200 euro charge. I don’t understand how in 2024 a very expensive fine dining establishment does not use a booking system that accurately sends out reminders 1 week or 48 hours ahead of the reservation. A simple text or email reminder would have resolved the issue.

My wife and I went to La Terrazza yesterday in order to enjoy a beautiful lunch above the Portofino coast, featuring, quite possibly, one of the most stunning and spectacular views that you can find! Having said that I was rather surprised to find an Olivier salad, one of the Russian Federation‘s national dishes, in my Vitello Tonnato. Upon asking the exceptionally professional and kind staff for the reason behind this inexplicable hommage to a country that has been leading a war of aggression, actively seeking to destabilise Europe as well as its democratic values; the answer was that it was added as an ode to the myriad of Russian guests. In times of political turmoil, I would expect more moral and political tactfulness and less opportunism from an institution like Splendido. Therefore I would like to ask the restaurant to clearly distance itself from everything Russian, as it is simply offensive to those that possess of the necessary acumen to understand that the alteration of the dish is meant to attract Russian tax payers, financing a war on our values and European brothers and sisters in Ukraine. I sincerely thank you for taking into consideration my feedback!

La Terrazza, this beautiful view, possibly one of the most instagramable views of Portofino. But also - one of the best places that I have dined during the Italian birthday trip with my daughter. Together with La Loggia in Belmond Fiesole. On June 17th we walked up the hill to the hill, which also gives you a sense of achievement when you finally arrive at the terrace, with those breathtaking views over the Portofino bay. Again also here, the dining experience, the cultured clientele and the discrete and absolutely friendly service was unsurpassed. We had a wonderful evening where every little detail was taken care of and of course also here a birthday surprise was duly served. Many thanks to the team of kitchen and service and especially Mr. Luca Ceretti! I will be back and can only recommend La Terrazza for a great and memorable evening.

The view of Portofino from the resturant is beyond amazing. You simply cannot do scribe how beautiful the sunset is from the terrace while drinking a class of wine and eating dinner. The food was also amazing some of the best pasta that I have ever eaten. The only reason I do not give is 5 stars is the very slow speed of response after a request from the staff. We were not greeted by our waiter for at least 20 minutes after sitting down and it took at least another 20 minutes for our wine to arrive. After that the meal progressed smoothly until we requested our check where again we had to request twice and took over 30 minutes.

La Terrazza is a must visit when in Portofino. Perched above a hill overlooking the harbor of Portofino and located within the legendary Belmond Splendido the location and atmosphere of the restaurant is unbeatable. If you are a couple on a romantic getaway… this is the place for you! If you are a family exploring the itllian riviera, you’ll also love your experience here. With all of that being said, the best part about La Terrazza is the service. The staff is kind, accommodating, and willing to assist you in any way possible. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation here; you won’t regret it!!
