A Culinary Delight in Portofino: Osteria N7
As a frequent traveler who enjoys exploring nice cities and dining at good restaurants, I thought I had tasted it all. But my recent experience in Portofino left me utterly delighted and craving more. Let me tell you about the hidden gem that stole my heart: Osteria N7.
This charming restaurant is unlike any other. Its uniqueness lies in its ever-changing menu, which dances to the rhythm of the sea and the vibrant local market. Every day, the talented chefs at Osteria N7 craft their offerings based on the freshest seafood and seasonal vegetables available. It's a symphony of flavors, orchestrated by the ingredients themselves.
During our three-day stay in Portofino, my partner and I made a delightful ritual out of dining at Osteria N7. Each evening, we stepped into the cozy ambiance, our senses already tingling with anticipation. And oh, the dishes! They were nothing short of divine.
Fried Anchovies: Crispy, golden, and bursting with flavor, these little fish were a revelation. The delicate balance of saltiness and crunch made them irresistible.
Seafood Mix: A medley of treasures from the ocean—calamari, prawns, and scallops—all fried to perfection. The tangy dipping sauce elevated the experience.
Pesto Lasagna: Layers of silky pasta interwoven with fragrant basil pesto and creamy béchamel. Each forkful was like a warm hug from Nonna herself.
Grilled Calamari: Tender rings kissed by the grill, drizzled with lemon and olive oil. Simple yet sublime.
As we savored our meals, we couldn't help but dream. What if Osteria N7 expanded beyond Portofino? Switzerland, perhaps? We'd be regulars, no doubt. Imagine indulging in their culinary magic every single day—the thought alone made our taste buds dance.
But for now, we'll cherish the memories of those two enchanting nights. Osteria N7, thank you for the culinary symphony you orchestrated. You've left an indelible mark on our palates and our hearts.
So, fellow food enthusiasts, if you find yourself in Portofino, seek out Osteria N7. It's not just a restaurant; it's an edible love story. Buon...
Read moreProbably my favourite place in the entire world!!! This Osteria is just next level. Traditional, simple and delicious. Filled with locals every night. Affordable pricing that just makes sense. We ate here 3/4 nights we stayed in SML. The staff are friendly and attentive. The Lasagne al a pesto is out of this world, silky soft pasta and delicious smooth pesto. The Pansoti salsa di noci s is incredible, rich and amazing walnut sauce. We also tried the Ravioli with Ragu, which was also excellent. The Shrimp and Calamari grilled skewer is also amazing. 10/10. Don’t get me started on the dessert….. Peach Pie with Gelato, death row wish, tangy and sweet. We met a lovely Milano couple, who have been coming to SML for 60years, and said this is the best place to eat, so that’s saying...
Read moreThe atmosphere is very authentic at this reasonably priced restaurant very close to Santa Margherita’s pier. The menu is delicious even though somewhat limited. Pansotti alla salsa di noci are always on the menu. Trenette al pesto are always served as well. As so is minestrone alla genovese. I love their fritto misto and I am always happy to end the meal with a slice of pear and chocolate cake. The biggest problem is the big lie about the restaurant being "climatized". What a joke! They have one A/C unit but the dining room is uncomfortably warm. The use the word "climatized" on their website and at the entrance of the restaurant but rest assured that that is no place for dinner on a warm...
