Punicum — Restaurant in Santa Marinella

We went there because of the good ratings and because it is said to have a terrace on the shore. Well, the terrace is indeed close to the shore but except for 2 tables, you can’t see the sea….So, it is definitively not correct to say that the restaurant is on the shore with a wonderful view…The service is ok except that the place belongs to those restaurants that once you’ve got your main dish it takes forever to get the deserts and the bill…The decor is very nice with a high attention to details. Regarding the food the place is clearly overrated... Asking a salad from the sea you actually get a green salad with a couple of shrimps and almost no dressing…We also took some pasta that was tasteless which is quite very surprising for Italian cuisine. Tucked away in an alley along the promenade, this restaurant offers a particularly charming sea view corner. I recommend dining inside during the day and outside at night: from the marvelous table with sea-view windows you can enjoy the excellent view during the day, and the moonlight at the outdoor tables at night.

The bread basket was excellent, clearly of high quality, most likely homemade.

The pasta dishes were also good. The sea carbonara with tuna had a flavor I expected to be bolder, but overall it was enjoyable and well-creamed. The spaghetti with clams was satisfying.

The only flaw: the dishes came out a bit lukewarm. I would have preferred them a bit hotter, to avoid the last bite being almost cold.

Una bellissima sorpresa! Il ristorante Punicum offre un'esperienza culinaria straordinaria che sicuramente soddisferà anche i palati più esigenti. L'atmosfera accogliente e raffinata ti fa sentire subito a tuo agio. La vista sul mare poi rende il tutto estremamente romantico. Il personale è incredibilmente attento e cortese, garantendo un servizio impeccabile fin dall'inizio.

Passando al cibo, la selezione di piatti a base di pesce è eccezionale. Ogni portata è preparata con ingredienti freschissimi e di alta qualità. L'antipasto di crudo di mare è una vera delizia per gli amanti del pesce, con gamberi, ostriche e tartare che si fondono armoniosamente. Ma anche sui cotti non si scherza ragazzi. Anche i primi piatti non deludono: ho avuto la fortuna di apprezzare le linguine all'astice dal gusto delicato ed armonioso.

Il punto forte, però, sono i piatti principali. Il pesce alla griglia è preparato con maestria, mantenendo la sua freschezza e consistenza. I sapori sono bilanciati in modo eccellente, senza mai sovrastare il gusto naturale del pesce. Le salse e i contorni sono abbinati con cura, aggiungendo ulteriori sfumature di gusto al piatto.

Anche la carta dei vini è degna di nota, con una selezione ben curata di vini bianchi e rosati che si abbinano perfettamente al pesce.

Nonostante la qualità eccezionale del cibo, i prezzi sono ragionevoli considerando la freschezza e la raffinatezza delle pietanze offerte.
