We came across this restaurant while walking close to our hotel. No reservation but they accommodate us at 8pm. The restaurant was absolutely full by 8.30. Frederica welcomed us and helped us to order food speaking good english. My soon had pizza margarita, my daughter penne with salmon and me beef tagliata with salad but I also ordered penne arbiatta. Tagliata was one of the best ever I have with meet perfectly cooked with sauce like port sauce. Arbiata perfect. Gorgeously appointed space, with elegant decor and a surprisingly intimate feel (perfect for date-night) Bakkus was a welcome surprise as a last minute choice. The menu is extensive, with interesting options and an endless list of specialty pizzas that should please any palate. Staff was lovely, attentive from start to finish, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm and accommodating. They gave us great recommendations and never kept us waiting. We came without a reservation, but the restaurant was completely empty. The waiter told us to wait 2 minutes. Instead, we were left standing for around 15 minutes, ignored multiple times as the same waiter walked past us without a word.
