Fish House Restaurant — Restaurant in Savona

I visited this restaurant based on the glowing reviews, but left genuinely confused if I’d ended up at the same place others had praised.

I ordered €50 worth of risotto, which arrived undercooked, and the shrimp hadn’t been deveined, leaving a gristly texture that made the dish difficult to enjoy. My son’s pasta with fish was similarly disappointing: dry and lacking in flavor.

To top it off, the bottled water, priced as if it were premium, was the same brand sold at the corner store just across the square.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice place to sit down and have a drink when we came across The Fish House in Savona. Right away we were told we could only sit if we ordered food, which was fine — I agreed to order something to eat.

While we were sitting, my girlfriend went to change our baby in the restroom. It already took quite a while to get noticed, and I honestly felt ignored. Eventually, I placed our order with an older man — possibly the owner — who didn’t say a word, barely looked at me, just took the order and walked away.

Later, when he brought the food, my girlfriend thanked him twice, but again — no eye contact, no words. The service was absolutely terrible. I have never experienced anything like it. We will never, ever eat here again. The staff was extremely unfriendly and unprofessional.

Mentre eravamo seduti, la mia ragazza è andata a cambiare il nostro bambino in bagno. Abbiamo aspettato a lungo prima che qualcuno ci considerasse, e sinceramente mi sono sentito completamente ignorato. Alla fine ho fatto l’ordine con un uomo più anziano — forse il proprietario — che non ha detto una parola, non mi ha nemmeno guardato, ha preso l’ordine ed è andato via.

Quando ha portato il cibo, la mia ragazza lo ha ringraziato due volte, ma lui niente — nessuno sguardo, nessuna risposta. Il servizio è stato davvero pessimo. Non mi è mai capitata un’esperienza così negativa. Non torneremo mai più. Il personale è stato scortese e assolutamente poco...

Food is really good, but service is fast. 3 times it happened that we had fork and knife in our hands and food in our plate and they took our plates away barely asking. The table next to waited for 40 min for their meal. They don't follow covid rules. They open bottles with bare hands and put back the lid. They ask us to fill in a form and hand us the pen they clearly didn't clean and had in their hands the whole evening. Overall service rude and...
