I stayed at this Hotel with my family in July|I booked it in March through Booking.com|During the booking process I booked a double room and a 2 Junior suite’s as there was no double rooms left. On the room description it said 1 double bed and 1 single which was perfect as my son was staying in one room with his aunt. However on the app it said single use for the junior suite’s. I tried to alter this on the app but it wouldn’t allow it. So I contacted the hotel through booking.com and the hotel came back to me saying they didn’t understand my request and said I could book another room. Obviously this was too expensive. So I put 2 names down on the guest name slot and booked the rooms. |Upon arrival at the hotel at check in I confirmed with the man about the room requirements and the problem with the app I asked if there was any additional costs. “No all good no problem” he said. At check out he gave me the bill which was €500 more than it said on the booking confirmation. I refused to pay it until I contacted Booking.com. Whilst waiting to get in touch with them he changed the cost of the rooms on the app. I left the hotel and they took the money from a credit card I’d used at the property not the card I used the confirm the Booking. |I contacted Booking.com again and they said there’s nothing they could do.|It’s also worth mentioning the noise from the street outside. My parents did not sleep properly for 6 nights. Also the breakfast is nothing special and there was flies around all the stale breads & cakes. The man behind the counter (Constantino) is constantly harassing you with offers of expensive tours run by his friends that are always conveniently hanging around the hotel. The wifi is also terrible my teenage son was very unhappy it ruined his stay. |I strongly recommend a different booking company because if you have an issue they are no...
Read moreWe loved this charming hotel in the heart of Scilla. The hotel was built in the 18th century with very large and spacious rooms. We had three rooms and one on each floor. All rooms were decorated with a typical European charm. What comes with a building built in the 18th century? Stairs. So be prepared to haul your luggge up the stairs when you arrive. Most of the time we had water pressure but it did take some time to heat up and get to us on the third floor which is really the 4th floor. I just assumed it’s an old building and didn’t even question it. The WiFi worked but not all the time. When it did work it worked well. One time when we pointed out it wasn’t working they fixed it quickly. The hotel has a typical European breakfast but I was pleasantly surprised to see some eggs and bacon being served. Different breads and a coffee machine with homemade sweets were more than plentiful. This is southern Italy. So English is very sparse but most made a huge effort to try and communicate with us. This is not a big city. A small town. I loved watching the wedding and first communion in the banquet area they had when we were there. The hotel is close to lots of food options right outside the door and when sitting on the front patio of the hotel you can view the Tyrrhenian Sea. If you are sensitive to noise don’t book the ocean view rooms which are in the front of the hotel. The ones that face the back are quiter. Parking can be arrange off site if needed. If you are coming to use the beach make sure you reserve your beach chairs in advance they sell out quickly. I loved this little hotel. I highly recommend. Remember you are not in a big city. Bring your patience and slow down. Enjoy the culture and make an effort to speak...
Read moreExcellent hotel. Lovely and clean. Had breakfast included in a small restaurant area in the hotel. The location was over the road from the sea with restaurants and bars within very easy reach and the old part was a bit further around the road, but was easy to walk to which had more restaurants. We had the third, [top floor] but the manager thankfully carried our cases up to the top as there is no lift, and it was a very winding staircase. The area we had was a large room connected by a corridor to the bathroom, and another small room. We had a small balcony with table and chairs which was good to sit out on. The hotel had all the facilities we needed. The car parking was on the sea front which cost 10 Euros per day from 8.00 a.m until 11.59 pm, then free until 8.00 a.m. It was a lovely hotel in a great location. If there was any gripe, it was that the restaurant was closed on Monday and most of the restaurants in Scilla were closed on Monday and Tuesday evening. A few of the beach...
