Beautiful setting on the ocean. Unfortunately, that was the only nice part. We were the second group to be seated ( a little earlier than their opening time); we were a group of two. At 13:00, when they officially opened, we were brought water and bread. Soon our waiter arrived and he seemed pleasant. We ordered grilled swordfish and breaded shrimp. He asked us if we wanted salads. We said “yes.” We also got a quarter liter of wine, which was good and served promptly. Soon after the entire restaurant was full. At 14:00 we finally got our food (i.e. an hour later). All other groups had been served starters and main courses. The one group to arrive before us, which had at least six people, we already moving on to coffees, which is a sign the entire meal was finished). Our hour long wait was met with the swordfish being cold. After waiting an hour with no food or communication, we told the waiter that we would like to have the swordfish canceled from our check, but that we would pay for everything else. He became defensive and raised his voice. He said our wait was “normal” and that the fish was “fresh.” I’m sure the latter comment was a mistranslation on his part. Mind you, I spoke very clear Italian. He told me not to be angry, yet the entire time I spoke softly, lowly, and politely. He, on the other hand, drew everyone else’s attention to us. In the end, he did cancel the swordfish, but we still paid 45 Euros for poor...
Read moreMy friends and I decided to dine in this restaurant as it has an amazing view and atmosphere, however the service was terrible. We waited for 1 hour for our second course to arrive but nothing came. We asked the waiter for a second bottle of water and we did not receive it if not after the third time we asked. When we confronted the waiter about the missing dishes and asked for the bill as we lost all our appetite at that point the waiter responded with ‘ah, let me see…’ We stood up and went to the counter to pay and got a 2euro discount and was promised a limoncello to compensate for the fact that our dishes did not arrive. We waited 15 min and the owner completely neglected us after proposing on his own account to offer us a drink. To be honest, I never write bad reviews because I am very laid back person and when problems arise are very open to any possible solutions provided. This however did not occur at Blue de toi so do...
Read moreTHE WORST FOOD EXPERIENCE IN SCILLA!!!! Have been here a week, eaten more or less well everywhere but this was a CULINARY DISASTER and the most expensive so far....the waiters couldn’t care less if you’re there or not. The pesce crudo was completely tasteless, I could have been eating my napkin, the swordfish with green peppercorns, mint and lemon was an over cooked fish, with congealed sauce that had zero mint and old parsley thrown on the plate as a garnish. My husband octopus was like chewing leather and the gnocchi with mussels and saffron had were tasteless and like chewing rubber. CLEARLY A TOURIST TRAP...they couldnt have cared less when we complained and took our money regardless. AVOID AT ALL COSTS..Go to IL PIRATA a few steps away and you will eat divinely for much less...the antipasto di Pesce Crudo costs 18 euros, is huge and...
