We didnât actually have a bad meal here the food was excellent.. my negative rating is due to one member of staff! After our main course plates were removed from our table we waited for over half an hour for our waiter to return to see if we would like deserts or coffee. When we finally gave up waiting and called for his attention to request the bill I told him of our displeasure at being ignored whilst he busily cleaned empty tables around us .. choosing to ignore the paying customers sat waiting ..
His response was to tell me that he was busy and if I wanted desert I should have called him over and this is how things are done! As I have not trained as a waiter I do not know this!! He has trained for 10 years and so does know that this is how things are done!
So am I to believe that every other customer in this restaurant had to click their fingers and shout for attention to get any service ? Of course not.. how ludicrous!
In all the years and all the many places Iâve eaten in restaurants I have never been spoken to in such a manner by such an upstart!! He managed to totally spoil the last night of my holiday .. so thank you !! Clearly your training is outdated and you are in need of a...
Read moreA wonderful family run authentic Italian restaurant. Iâve eaten here twice this trip and shall return again tonight because the whole experience is exemplary. Antonio manages the chic outside restaurant floor with warmth and attention to detail. His sister Maria is the genius in the kitchen. Alessio is charming and knows his wine. The younger generation of the family are perfectly in harmony with the way everything works as they too learn the business. This family from Salerno could not be kinder or more welcoming. Iâm just 3 days we have had the privilege to get to know them a little. Iâve lived in Florence for 2 years and travelled widely in Italy but Iâve never eaten a better meal. Everything is delicious and...
Read moreMy wife and I recently visited Stresa for some rest and relaxation after a work conference in Milan. While there we enjoyed a delightful dinner at Hostaria Vita. Since, I had not yet had an opportunity to sample the local saffron risotto, I opted for their risotto with tuna tartare and burrata, while my wife ordered the panecchia with asparagus and sausage. Both dishes were delicious, the tuna with the risotto was an amazingly good combination. We added a lovely white wine, Greco di tufo to compliment our dishes. The wait staff were friendly and attentive and the prices were quite reasonable. If youâre in Stresa and looking for a delicious place for dinner or lunch at a reasonable cost, try...
