Ristorante Pizzeria La Piazzetta — Restaurant in Stresa

When I was younger, we would visit this area every year with my whole family. And each year we would eat at la piazetta multiple times during our holidays. We came back for the great food, the fantastic atmosphere and the most welcoming passionate staff ever. We were always greeted warmly and offered limoncello and I have the fondest memories of la piazetta.

When now, 8 years after we stopped going to this area, I came back, I of course had to visit la piazetta and it was exactly as I remember it. Even the staff hadn't changed, except for maybe some years older ;)

Very disorganized place. Visited as recommended by the tour leader but was a disappointment. If I were the tour company I would not recommend a place like this, as our order was brought at very different times and a number of items like omlette that were on the menu, we were told it's not available after ordering. I found it daunting that a place that serves carbonara is unable to fulfill an order for a cheese omlette. Instead I ordered grilled melanzane and grilled zucchini to come with the caprese. We had an amazing dinner at La Piazzetta. We had to wait a little for a table, but it was totally worth it. We chose the prosciutto and melon as a starter, the spaghetti carbonara and the mushroom risotto as mains, and the tiramisu for dessert. Everything was lovely — the flavors were rich and the portions were just right.

The staff cleaned the tables very quickly so the next guests could be seated, which made the atmosphere feel a bit rushed at times, but we didn’t really mind. We definitely recommend having dinner...
