Poorly run and mismanaged. We visited Le 7 spezie as it had a high rating and was near to our hotel. Overall, very disappointed. At first a waitress greeted us in English and we ordered our meal. The waitress then became one of the cooks (odd). A man - who appeared to be the manager - then hastily presented us with our meal between hot footing it to the next table. The meal l was reasonable. It would be hard to experience 'bad' Italian cooking and the food was certainly palatable although lacked the authentic buzz that really good Sicilian cooking gives. The service was appalling. The busy man-query-manager was trying to take orders, serve food and greet customers simultaneously in what had become a busy restaurant. Seemingly an impossible task. Whilst we saw four cooks in the kitchen who seemed to be getting under each others feet. Surely one person should waitress and another serve? We then sat waiting for our bill. It this during moment we may well have become invisible to the naked eye. After some 45 minutes we finally received our bill. Only to then wait further to hand someone the payment for it. In the end we angrily threw the cash on the table and walked out. I would have given just one star had the food been below par but certainly a one star service. Overall a disappointment on what should have been an...
Read moreWe had a great dining experience at Le 7 Spezie in Syracuse, Sicily. We ordered the pistachio trofie, scampi linguini, seafood risotto, and grilled swordfish. The pastas were outstanding—some of the best we’ve ever had. The standout was definitely the pistachio trofie, which had a unique, flavorful sauce that was incredibly tasty and memorable.
The grilled swordfish was a bit of a letdown—it came out quite dry—but the quality of the pastas more than made up for it. One thing to note: there is a €3 per person bread service charge, which is common in the area but worth mentioning. Google says the restaurant opens at 7 but when we came, it was only opened at 7:30.
Overall, it’s worth a visit for the...
Read moreSuch a great place to eat in Syracuse. A typical italian trattoria with both fish and meat options, but I atrongly suggest the fish options. The food was delicious and creative and the staff was so accomodating and asked us about every single detail of the dish and were qilling to change things for us. They even gave us a more abundant portion of one of their dishes than norma for the same pricel, since we wanted to share it. The atmosphere is quite nice inside and out in the terrace. I have nothing bad to say about this place....
