I first want to say thank you to Rosanna and her son Roberto for an absolute incredible meal.

This was one of those incredible moments that you can’t explain.

Roberto and Vincenzo (server) were so pleasant and accommodating. I had made a reservation online and they had the table all set for my arrival at 12:30. Given that it was at 12:30pm on a Wednesday, it was no surprise that there was plenty of room.

Roberto gave me a very detailed update on the menu that included the catch of the day as well as some other options, including the pasta with Lobster and Black Truffle.

The wine he suggested was perfect - a local wine from Fina winery called Kike. The wine had a nice flavour with some hone and a slight hint of vanilla. This is a Sicilian wine from the region.

My Meal:

I started off with the grilled octopus and it was absolutely perfect with a nice char and a soft centre. 5/5 *

As my main dish, I opted for their suggested pasta with Lobster and black truffle and it was absolutely incredible.

Rosanna (mom) who owns the restaurant is from the region of Marche, Italy.

The Black Truffle is directly from her home town and you can tell she puts a lot of pride and thought into her recipes and this is nothing short of wonderful.

Thank you to Rosanna, Ricardo and Vincenzo (from Puglia) for making such amazing food within an incredible space.

5.5*

Do yourself a favour and stop in and say hello… and have an incredible meal.

Decker From Toronto

5,5*

Fatti un favore, passa a salutarci... e goditi un pasto...

Fuori Ortigia is somewhere you definitely, definitely have to go for dinner when in Siracusa. The service was above and beyond! ☺️ We arrived at 6:30pm, and although they didn’t actually open until 7pm, they still allowed us to sit down and have a drink outside and provided us with complimentary pre-meal snacks, which were delicious! The bruschetta to start with was to die for, best bruschetta we’ve ever had. Equally, the main courses of breaded veal steak and linguine with langoustines were absolutely wonderful. Due to the extreme heat, we struggled to finish our main courses, but Riccardo and his team were extremely understanding, and even invited us to come inside to the air conditioned room where we could comfortably finish our bottle of wine. Riccardo even asked us if we would like to have the TV switched on. As stated earlier in my review, the service truly was above and beyond, and the rest! 😊 Riccardo and your team, Grazie! Grazie...

We didn’t plan ahead but came across Ristorante Fuori Ortigia after a full day of walking and touring Ortigia/Siricusa.

They have indoor air conditioned and outdoor seating. The staff are lovely and so kind/friendly. Also helped explain in English some of the specials and recommended dishes.

Our family thought this was one of the best meals of our week long trip through Sicily. Which is hard because everywhere the food is so fresh and wonderful!

Apps-calamari and shrimp - not greasy and tasty for fried food. Seafood pastas were quite delicious and lots of variety of shell fish. Red shrimp tar tar was a first for me and freshly made. Grilled king prawns and langostines - perfectly seasoned and grilled. Pancetta with pistachio pesto- different for us and was made well. A little oily but it’s pancetta! lol.

Overall don’t miss out. I also loved that all of our food comes out hot!...

The worse lunch experience during our stay in Sicily. We waited almost an hour to get out meals. Apparently, they had a big group for a lunch, but they could have worn us before placing the order, so we know that we would need to wait so long. Rissoto with red shrimps and pistachio was fine, interesting combination and it's obvious that cook pays attention how to prepare the food. But fish was a big disappointment- small filet of sea bream for 22 eur plus 7 eur for caponata (that was tasty tough) was a shame! And the fish was nit cooked well at first, so we turned it back to cook it till the end. The staff is kind tough, nice people, maybe this was just their bad day...
