In short: amazing service, would 100% recommend and return. Long version: on a Friday night in April 2024, we picked up my aunt from Catania Airport at around 8:40 pm with plans to have dinner somewhere on our way to our local stay in Sicily (Syracusa). Unfortunately, we wore out of luck. The first restaurant we went was closed for a private event. The second (already in Syracusa) said they were closed, even though their posted ours were until midnight (it was around 10:30 pm). In broken Italian, we asked the waiter in that restaurant where we could have dinner at that time and he pointed us to Colibri. We almost no hope (posted hours said they were closing in 5 minutes), we rushed there and begged to be served with our group of 5. Even though their only other customers were almost done with dinner, the whole staff stayed to serve us. A funny and very accommodating waiter, the admirable owner, and talented chef all served us as if we were VIP customers. With the help of Google translate, tips from the owner, and patience from the waiter, we all ordered and were satisfied with our dishes. We had the beef, a side of fries (huge for a decent price, I think around 5 euros) and the fresh maccheroncini alla Norma ($10). They even prepared a spaghetti al sugo for the child (pictured below). Service was attentive and kind, and the food came quickly. Bathroom was very clean and the space was pretty and looked brand new. Can't recommend it enough! Thank you for having us so late!

Two Vodafone staff recommended me to try Colibri after they helped fix my PIN issue. They said it has got great fish. So I did. Impressed by the service ( they showed me details of each dish I ordered including price!). I love the gentleman who brought each dish with a joyful smile with the food he offered me. With great service, I further enjoyed the delicious food that comes with a reasonable price. Thank you!

Ci siamo subito sentiti a casa. Tutti i piatti che abbiamo mangiato strepitosi. Pesce freschissimo appena pescato. . Ingredienti selezionati e ben equilibrati fra i sapori. . Tonno fritto in crosta su un letto di cipolle in agrodolce . . Una cosa indescrivibile . .

STAY AWAY, IF YOU DON’T BELIEVE JUST MY REVIEW, READ OTHERS ONE STAR REVIEWS PLUS THE REACTIONS OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT - hilarious! I believe all of those reviews and am sorry for not reading them before we went to eat here.

I am fairly certain all the good reviews are paid for by the restaurant for promotion here on google. We went to eat here at the time of lunch on monday - there was NOT ONE guest. The waiter was friendly, however - he showed us the specials written in notes on his phone (??). The food was mediocre at best. Supermarket shrimp salad, didn’t touch it after first taste. That being an appetizer, was brought to the table at the same time as entreé. Next we had the seafood platter - everything dry and overcooked, practically unseasoned. Supermarket bought BBQ sauce to go with bone-dry octopus 😂 and I am being sent to eat at McDonald’s in the primary answer to this review? Get real! Salad comprised of 4 little tomatoes, which was compensated for by a ton of raw red onion - inedbile. All in all this costs 55€. I especially enjoyed the quality check by the waiter once I was paying for half uneaten food: “ okay?” :D i just had to shrug it off, speachless.

Do yourself a huge favor and get further inside of the center, for example Giugio restaurant on the Ortigia island rocks (we had dinner there the...
