OMG! Paradise for those who like me recently discovered a sweet, deep love for cheese and simple ingredients such as tasty tomato sauce. We ran out of options for dinner given how busy Syracuse is (no matter the season, I believe). Called to reserve, as the night before we saw an enormous cue of hungry eaters waiting for a potential space. Only to find out that one cannot make a reservation-that explains the cue of the night before. Determined to find out, we showed up 20min before opening times, and were happily rewarded with a beautifully made pizza. My choice went for a ricotta stuffed crust with more cheese and tomato sauce in the middle. My husband went for anchovies, olives and tomato sauce. Absolutely delicious! At first sight, I thought one pizza wasn't big enough for me but boy was I off. I enjoyed every bit of it (the part I finished anyway). The desserts are also great. My choice went to a triple-layer chocolate pistachio. NB: when in/around pay close attention to the detailed decorations. They also have a fab (cheeky) sense of humour 😉 Highly recommended choice!

Honestly just a really disappointing experience. We went because they had a gluten free pizza base (extra €3.90) but it honestly seemed frozen or store bought. It went super hard really quickly and just wasn’t great. As a coeliac it didn’t feel like a safe or decent option at all. Service was pretty rubbish too. One female waitress was actually really lovely but the rest (all guys) were rude and just couldn’t be bothered. My partner was offered to try the red wine available. One was cold and stale. When asked if they had a regular room temperature option, they shrugged us off. When we asked to take our leftovers they brought one box for both pizzas, even though one was gluten free and the other wasn’t, which just isn’t ideal. Then we noticed a wine on the bill that we didn’t even have. The waiter did fix it and say sorry, but it was such a half-hearted standoffish apology. Then he just sort of chucked the new bill on the table. Overall it felt like a tourist trap. Definitely wouldn’t go back, especially if you’re coeliac or just expect basic good service.

Pizzeria Schiticcho is truly in a league of its own, delivering an exceptional experience that makes it stand out among the many dining options I encountered on my 24-day trip. From the moment I stepped through the door, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the stage for an unforgettable meal. The employees at Pizzeria Schiticcho are not only skilled but also incredibly kind and attentive, adding a personal touch that significantly enhances the dining experience.

The service at Pizzeria Schiticcho was remarkable; the staff went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of my visit was perfect. Their genuine friendliness and eagerness to accommodate any special requests made me feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. The effort they put into making every patron feel special was truly commendable and played a significant role in making the trip from DC worthwhile.

Now, let’s talk about the pizza—easily the highlight of my entire journey. The quality and flavor of the pizza at Pizzeria Schiticcho are unparalleled. Each bite revealed a perfect balance of fresh ingredients, skillfully crafted dough, and just the right amount of seasoning. The pizza was not only delicious but also a testament to the restaurant's dedication to excellence. It was clear that the chefs take great pride in their craft, and their passion for pizza is evident in every slice.

In conclusion, Pizzeria Schiticcho exceeded all expectations and stands out as the best pizza I had during my extensive trip. The combination of exceptional service and top-notch pizza makes it a must-visit destination. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and experience the magic of the Pizzeria Schiticcho—you...

Definitely one to avoid!!! We asked to sit outside, waited and when a table came free we were sat down by a waiter and ordered drinks. A few minutes later a group of 3 Italian people turned up and also asked to sit outside. A conversation ensued and the waiter appeared to say that there were no tables. The man of the group pointed at myself and my partner and the conversation continued. Shortly afterwards a different waiter came over and told us that the table was reserved. We explained that we had been sat down by a waiter and had ordered drinks but he said that we would need to move inside. We politely declined. The manager then came over and explained we had to move inside or they wouldn’t serve us further. We instead said that we would leave and go somewhere else. As we were walking off the group of Italian people and the waiter were looking at us and laughing. The food looked ok, but the service and the way we were treated was shocking and extremely poor for a restaurant that came recommended by multiple different sources. We were in Ortigia as part of a wedding party. Others in the group of 20+ experienced similar issues from rude and obnoxious staff. Definitely...

Pizza okay but nothing special, poor service, staff clueless. A wine glass broke/smashed in my wifes mouth as she was drinking. It was crazy, never seen that happen, the glass must have had a crack. So my wife has glass in her mouth which she carefully takes out, so I call over a waiter and explain what happened, he doesn't care at all, he simply takes away the broken glass and paper place mat. So my wife goes off to the bathroom to rinse he mouth, when she comes back she thinks glass is stuck in he throat. So we discuss options like hospital etc. At this point the waiter comes back with a new emplty glass and simply drops it on the table and walks off. My wife goes back to the bathroom to force herself to be sick. The restaurant was fairly busy, we were in the centre of the room, we had very clearly explained what happened and I could see other people watching us including bar staff and other waiters, the staff didn't care, they didn't want to speak to us, they didn't ask how she was, no apology. They overcharged us 4 euro versus the menu price for the wine, which I...
