TLDR: The restaurant L'Edera is located in the fabulous town of Tolfa, less than an hour away from Rome. The restaurant setup is basic, the service is accurate, and the food is average, but the view is breathtaking. If the weather cooperates, having a meal on the terrace is a unique experience.

Situated in the charming town of Tolfa, just a short drive from Rome, you'll discover the cosy restaurant L'Edera. Despite its unassuming appearance, the restaurant offers attentive service. The menu features delightful surprises, such as fresh ricotta served with cold cuts, pici with tomato sauce and crispy guanciale, and delicious roasted pork. I particularly enjoyed the delectable cake with ricotta and pears. The service was prompt and accurate, and the staff assisted us in managing our restless children at the table. Buona trattoria con menù semplice,(forse fin troppo) e del territorio. Materi prime buone e in alcuni casi Molto buone, come la carne di cinta senese e la pasta fatta in casa. Sotto tono il vino sfuso di qualità mediocre. Meglio il rosso ma sempre sotto tono. Antipasti molto classici con una variante di stagione che ruota come appunto le stagioni,ma nel complesso sono di buona fattura. Peccato non mettere ad ogni tavolo olio sale pepe e aceto, o quanto meno solo olio. Due volte su due l'ho dovuto chiedere per condire le bruschette poco condite,per me ovviamente. Servizio nella norma e familiare con un picco di garbo e preparazione da parte dei ragazzi molto capaci e sul pezzo.Le Patate al forno evitatele,optate per la cicoria se desiderate un contorno. Peccato la scelta molto ridotta anche qui, solo due contorni menzionati. Fare menù piccoli promette freschezza ma non per questo non debbono essere vari nel tempo o con eccezioni. Un consiglio può anche essere quello di fornire un menù cartaceo con relativi prezzi, non è cosa buona non portare il menù in tavola. Se si dice a voce è giusto dirne anche i prezzi. Le due esperienze valgono per me 3 stelle ma personalmente ne metto 4 in quanto il valore aggiunto ,non da poco, su quasi tutti i ristoranti a Tolfa è la splendida vista e sublime terrazza. Da sola a mio avviso vale una visita e un pasto. Si mangia da 3 ma si vive l'esperienza in terrazza che sfiora il 5 e quindi 4 stelle per me ci stanno. I was eager to dine here due to high reviews, unfortunately only positive thing was the view and fresh air, apart from waiting more than 40 minutes for only a slice of dessert and the overall low quality of the food it was more than 40€ per person to eat average frozen Ravioli(half empty) and the complete lack of meat plates(out of 3 choices only 1 was available).
