I think this restaurant pays bloggers and local hotel owners to advertise this place. The owner of our hotel wrote us the name of this restaurant on the map of Trapani. That's why we came there. Meals cost an average of 15 euros. Which is not so expensive, but in the city itself you can find more cozy places where pasta will cost 8 euros. To view the wine list, you need to download the restaurant's app. Which seemed strange to me, but ok. The staff doesn't speak English very well, perhaps that's why they seemed rude to me. The bread that was served to us was delicious and varied, but no butter was served. I ordered pasta ala trapanese and it was very dry. The pasta was sprinkled with almonds, which increased the dryness. I couldn't even eat half of it. When the waiter took away the plates and asked how the food was, I replied that it was very dry, he told me that it was actually a traditional dish. I said, I'm sure everything is fine with the dish, something is wrong with me. A little later, a couple came and sat down at the next table. The waiter recommended her exactly the same wine as me and the girl ordered the same dish. I heard her telling her boyfriend that the dish is very dry. My boyfriend ordered shrimp pasta and found only one shrimp there. But he told me that it was for the best, because the taste of pasta is too fishy and if there were more shrimp, it would be too much. The dishes were clearly prepared in advance and were just a portion of a large dish. I also think that's why it tasted so dry, I didn't dare to order dessert. But my boyfriend ordered tiramisu and was...
Read moreThe restaurant looks nice and the staff and the manager/owner are friendly. It is difficult to judge a restaurant by only six dishes and my review will be ONLY based on these. We had a prawn trattare on stracciatella which was nice and a salmon tartare on green apple which unfortunately was bland except for the peashoots sauce. The main courses were swordfish pie with sweet and sour bisque, and red prawns from Mazara in a citrus (orange, if I remember) sauce which were both ok. We also had a Pantesca salad as a side order which was extremely nice. We shared a strawberry cheesecake which looked good but was a bit floppy and to sweet for our palate. Everything was accompanied by a great sparkling grillo. The restaurant has an excellent selection of local, Italian and international wines that can satisfy everyone. Finally, but very important nonetheless, their menu in English seems to be translated by Google and a lot of it does not make a lot of sense, it is actually funny (a lot of restaurants in Trapani have the bad habit of using Google translate for their menus, tarnishing a lot their reputation). We will go again to this restaurant and will try something else in their menu as, I believe, they deserve...
Read moreWe had very high expectations for this establishment. The restaurant has a beautiful display of cheese and preserved meat in the cabinet, and good selection of Sicilian wine. All was looking good.
I will confess that my Italian is poor, but we have been all over Sicily from Osterias in Palermo, to Trattorias in Syracusa to Pasticieres in Trapani, so know what to expect in terms of Sicilian service. Relaxed and friendly but on the ball; big smiles, and bigger wines.
Our experience at 210 however was nowhere close to the expectation of service or quality. We had to wait 30mins for the water to arrive, which came after the food and after the wine. The wine pour we got was half what the person next to us got. The deserts were average at best and the staff seemed uncoordinated and incoherent. The establishment is pitched as a restaurante but in reality we have had better experiences at Osterias.
In a way it’s good we came tonight, as it means we could cancel our larger booking for tomorrow. All was not lost.
On a positive note the water was very nice when it arrived. Perhaps there are other redeeming features, I will not be returning...
