With arias floating on the air from the summer stage in the park across the street, hopes were high as we sat in the street section of the restaurant. Unfortunately the street seems to be a fairly major thoroughfare and the constant traffic noise drowned out most of the music. For the food, a good range of options for pastas, burgers, and if you have the wallet some fairly large cuts of beef. As tempting as the tomahawk was, at €90, I went with the very enjoyable tonnarelli - fat pasta strands similar to udon noodles in a light cheese sauce with a sprinkle of thick pieces of bacon. My dining companions had gnocchi, burger with egg, and the pulled pork burger. 2 orders of the chocolate brownies shared among us closed an enjoyable and tasty meal. Why only 3 stars for service and atmosphere? Those from the Mediterranean may be use to it but a 30 minute wait from ordering to receiving a meal does not sit well with us from higher latitudes, especially when the restaurant did not appear that busy. Atmosphere? Well the intrusive traffic noise blotting out the concert in the park is being a bit picky given it was the street seating and not something they can do much about. Otherwise go and enjoy, and if your feeling flush, one if the big steaks might tempt...
Read moreI have one word to say about this place it's a disappointment. It was our first day in trapani and we were looking forward to our first meal there. This place was recommended to us, so we decided to give it a try. It was extremely crowded and starting out we already could see the waiters were stressed running around trying to manage so many customers. There was some miscommunications with seating and service was rushed, very rushed...which all would not have been a big deal if the food was good, unfortunately it was terrible. The bread was stale, the tomatoes on the Hamburger were not fresh and the burger and pork sandwiches were the driest we've eaten from any restaurant. The most important thing I expect from a restaurant in this price range was food to taste at least decent and fresh. And in this case it did not. To top it all off we were charged 2.50 per person for service charge. This was the highest service charge and the worst service and food we had in sicily. I usually don't like to write such reviews but I just felt so bad after going there being so excited about the reviews and then what followed, just made us plane disappointed, umwelcolmed and feeling like the money we spent , as the meal was not...
Read moreI just want to say that the waiter/manager in a black suit, besides taking more than 15 minutes to get our order, was on his phone most of the time, even made us wait while he was on it, before taking our order. Also he was just behind us literally just on our backs, which isn’t great when your eating to have someone with his “ass” facing our table. The drinks arrived way after the food, as that person seemed to have completely forgotten about it, even though he was coming to check his phone behind us for about 10 times in that period. Overall we wouldn’t like to come back as it left us feeling forgotten. By the way, the girl waitress was doing all the work and I must say she was doing it well, even noticed we didn’t have any sauces and brought us some, even assisted us at the till with the table number, in contrast with the waiter in a black suit, who was just running around without a clue and just rudely sent us outside to pay, without explaining where or to who to go to. Food wise, the chicken burger was quite dry and the Sicilian burger was nice but way too pink for a burger, also the fries were way less on one plate compared...
