We had the best dinner of our stay in Trapani here. Choosing where to eat had been tricky, as other reviews left us unsure, but this gem was recommended by a lovely lady working at another restaurant where we couldn’t find a table. It turned out to be exactly what we were looking for: authentic, fresh, and cooked with love – like a home-cooked meal.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly, communicative, and genuinely smiling staff. We started with a delicious caponata, followed by two typical Sicilian pastas where you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. We also enjoyed couscous with fish soup (a Trapani specialty) and another seafood dish – a rich fish soup with seafood and slices of bread – absolutely delicious.
We left feeling truly uplifted, especially since we’d found it hard to eat well in Trapani due to mixed experiences elsewhere. The restaurant was full of local people, which is always a good sign.
We paid €135 in total for all of this: two liters of house wine, one coffee, one dessert (cassata), and our meals. It was worth every cent for an authentic, well-cooked Sicilian dining experience.
Friendly suggestion: the only thing we would skip is using balsamic cream as decoration – the food is so genuine and flavorful on its own that it...
Read moreCame here after reading about it on the Lonely Planet, was very excited after seeing all the great reviews but honestly i’m very disappointed. They started by bringing us cold red wine, I even looked it up to make sure it wasn’t a “thing” but the lady just told me that they keep it cold because people like it colder in August… like, no. Sorry. No. Tasted like bitter grape juice. Finally got the house wine at room temperature and was better but definitely not impressive. Caponata was good enough, but mains (we got the trapanese pasta and cous cous) were simply disappointing. Lacked flavour, really. And I’m Italian. And full of fish bones. And I still had the taste of cold red wine in me. And it simply wasn’t as good as people say. And it’s indoors, and there is no buzz. So, in other words, enjoy average food in a more fun location maybe. Oh, and the...

It’s the only restaurant i did over the last 36 hours and just vomited all (sorry for the details). My gf took only the pasta and she is ok. I took pasta + crudo and i ve spent all the day weak and end of day i vomited twice + other details which i will pass to you.
When i smelt it i was not 100% sure but like the address has been advised by an hotel where we stayed, i decided to trust.. my god ! So i had to...
