As a recommendation from a local, who explained beforehand that Sicilian pizza is different, that they use whole grain and the crust is thicker etc, we went to Calvino twice. Did not book in advance, had to wait about 15m to be seated and another 15 for the pizza. As we stayed in the counter top area at the entrance, I cannot really rate the interior. The Rianata pizza was delicious, indeed salty as others mentioned, but I guess it was because of the baked Pecorino and anchovies. I loved the taste, the crust and the serving, all cut in cubes in front of us. Finally, for me, a simple tourist, I found the staff and their story very charming. The place is run by a Calvino, a grumpy looking man who does everything still with a pen and notebook. Inside the visible oven area, his son and other employees. Staff was ok, like I would expect in an old Trapani pizzeria, not too fakely polite as in a McDonalds... patience is the keyword, I got everything I came in for at the end of the day, which was a good pizza and a cheap dinner. I paid 9 for a medium Rianata and 6.5 for a small Diavola. No coperto, as I was not seated. Note that I was there end September, so I might have avoided the annoyances of others regarding waiting time.

For me it was not a pizza more like baked frozen pizza. The dough was very thick and cheese was fat. I know this is rianata trapanese style pizza but, it’s was awful. I prefer Roman style pizza much more. And the waiting time was 30+ minutes after we order and we waited 20 min to order. Waiters were nice and friendly, they speak English pretty well. We made a reservation to sit inside the decore is bad. Our first thought/feel was hospital. Withe bright lights, paper tablecloth, plastic cups. And we paid 2 euros per person for service. If you need to try it just order it to go.

I was a big fan of this place. It was always my have-to-visit place while in Trapani… and I’m here 2-3 times a year. Unfortunately yesterday something changed. Pizza wasn’t as amazing as it used to be and I paid much more than I should. Pizza on a bill was more expensive than at the menu and for two glasses of house wine I paid 10€… for this price you can get almost 1,5L of house wine in many places in Trapani. Probably due to the sentiments I will give them a chance again in a while… but this time only four stars. Should be easy five but not sure if they deserve anymore!

Very centrally located hidden gem! Frequently visited by the locals. It looks totally unassuming from the outside and has a cozy house like interior. The pizzas are available in small, medium and large sizes. Beware that small size is just perfect for an individual. Medium and large can done with multiple choices in the same pizza. Coming to the pizza, one of the best pizza I ever tried over the last 4 years of living in Italy! The menu is also in English, the people are quite friendly and can assist you in your choose. Totally an incredible experience.

Takeaway only! The prices are okay but i would expect more from the food. The place is well visited i think mostly because of the Google-Reviews... About the Pizza: The dough is pre-made a bit chewy 3/10 the toppings and salsa are much better but the whole thing is soked in olive oil :/ I had the Pizza Mare e Menti (salmon with mushrooms). I would rate the whole thing considering the price waiting time/service and TASTE at a 5/10.

Una leggenda che trova conferma. Frequento questa pizzeria da quando ero adolescente. La pizza è buona come 45 anni fa. All'epoca c'erano solo 4 gusti: Rianata, Napoli, 4 gusti e Margherita.
