Osteria Vineria a Casa Mia — Restaurant in Trapani

We arrived in Trapani late in the evening and were so lucky to find this incredible Osteria still open – and not just open, but serving truly outstanding food.

We ordered a traditional Trapani-style pasta with sardines and fennel, and it was absolutely delicious – full of flavor, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with care. We also had a plate of fried seafood, which was crispy, fresh, and just spot on. Everything tasted authentic and satisfying, especially after a long travel day.

One small detail that stood out: it was the only place where we were served freshly squeezed lemon juice instead of lemon slices – exactly as we had asked. That level of attentiveness really made a difference.

i dati di fatto di una cena per tre sono: bene per i coperti in stoffa (che incide per 2 euro l'uno); bene per antipasto di sarde a beccofico (buone); bene per spaghetti con le sarde (buoni); male per bistecca di vitello (dura); male per braciola di maiale (dura e stopposa); nulla da dire sulle patate al forno (normali, senza lode e senza infamia).

All'esterno si è sul lungoporto trafficato, abbiamo preferito cenare dentro. All'interno l'ambiente è piccolo e l'aria condizionata insufficiente a raffrescare adeguatamente. Al tavolo dove ci hanno accomodato, avevo la macchinetta dei sorbetti che mi sparava aria calda su una tempia. Ho usato un loro menù per difendermi, cercando di deviare il flusso infernale. Alla fine della cena ero comunque contento di uscire.

Il servizio è alquanto agitato (tranne un cameriere che è sempre stato tranquillo). Probabilmente è un'esigenza dettata dalla proporzione numerica tra camerieri e coperti, tuttavia non é particolarmente piacevole avere a che fare con un servizio che si mostra sempre di fretta; trasmette una pressione che non dovrebbe coinvolgere il cliente.

A fine pasto ci hanno portato al tavolo la bottiglia con il liquore. Siamo astemi, ma abbiamo apprezzato il gesto.

Peccato, poi, perdere qualche punto con un caffè acquoso e, dopo le lodi sul coperto in stoffa, mi cadono sul servire il caffè con una spatola di plastica al posto del cucchiaino.

I bagni sono datati, ma puliti. Puliti come tutto il locale, posate e stoviglie comprese.

Diciamo che ci siamo entrati per caso, ma non abbiamo trovato motivi validi per i quali innamorarci del posto.

Quella macchinetta dei sorbetti a mo' di phon è una condanna per chi siede in quel tavolo...

Ah, il conto. 40 euro in tre persone per: un antipasto di sarde, uno spaghetto alle sarde, una bistecca di vitello ed una di maiale, un contorno di patate al forno, un caffè ed un litro...

I WOULD AVOID THIS PLACE

The food wasn’t bad, but the staff was incredibly unpleasant. Here below is why:

Even though we were one of the first ones to come, they asked us to take the least desirable table located right next to the barhroom and the kitchen. Then the waiters behaved super arrogantly grabbing things from the table we still wanted to have and ignoring us when we were about to ask for the check. It took us litterally 15 min to get to pay. At the end we were not even served a small bottle of alcohol like all other guests and for that eneven treatment I always give...
