Ristorante I Grilli — Restaurant in Trapani

Food is ok. Good bruschetta, good grilled cheese, pasta was nothing special. Probably ordering meat here is wiser. Main problem was the service. We were the only ones in the restaurant. No one came to our table until after 10 mins. The waiter acted very snobbishly, as if it were a high class restaurant, which it is not.

I asked for gnocchi not too cooked “al dente”. Being italian I know gnocchi is not actually considered as pasta but still I used al dente to make myself understood as the waiter seemed confused as to what “not too cooked gnocchi” means. There is nothing worse than overcooked gnocchi. He said ok. 10 minutes later he comes and asks what I mean al dente, and proceeds to explain what pasta is and what gnocchi are in a very entitled way. When someone pays for food, and you understand what they are asking for, dont come back and try to criticize.

My first negative experience ever with the restaurants. Strongly do not recomended this restaurant! Poor portions and food comparing to the price! For three "meals", two glasses of wines and two bottles of water we paid €64!!! Be aware that this is not 3* restaurant and do not expect disent food portions or professional service! Rude staff (not all), on my wife's question abou the food quality and portion the waithress said that she "is not responsible for the food she did not recommended"! Manager moved waitress from us so they could not hear our complaint! So unprofessional. At the end no one said anything to us, not even good night! I would never visit this...

This looked like a good place to have dinner. We had trouble deciding so we ordered two items first, then later one more item. After awhile they brought the last item we ordered but forgot about the first two. Eventually it came but not all at the same time. It was not a pleasant experience. At least the food tasted good. The other odd thing was they bring bread in paper bags like we are buying from a grocery store ! We then had to ask for a plate, olive oil and vinegar to eat the bread. Prices are about average.
