Nothing has changed - it's not us violating the rules of Google reviews, it was them who violated our comfort and wellbeing! ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS! Horrible place and definitely to avoid in Trapani if you want to stay safe and in a one piece. There were 6 of us there a few days ago and we were tempted by the seafood offer they have. The waiter said that it's the best and cheapest in town - where in other places it's 70 euro per kg, they have 50 euro. Now I know why - it's old, smelly and blank. To make the story short - only one friend had pizza and it was okay, house wine was good too. The rest of us order seafood and it was our mistake. The waiter offered mixed grill for 20 euro per person. Fries, veg, salad were extra. So after eating dry roasted veg and a few fries, we called the waiter to say that seafood was non eatable and we asked for a bill. We explained that we travel a lot and we all love seafood and that we ate it million times all over Europe but this one was just awful, sorry. We also asked him to meet us halfway in terms of payment and deduct some of the seafood we didn't eat anyway from that bill. We were still hungry and had to go elsewhere to eat. We said that wine was good, pizza as well, it's generally a nice spot to sit outside, and that we would pay service charge no problem as the service was nice (they add extra 2-2.5 euro p/p to each bill in Sicily but we normally leave extra tips anyway so we would have done the same on this occasion). We also pointed out that at the table beside us a couple just left leaving plates full of food which also looked like they didn't enjoy it and the same waiter looked very surprised seeing them gone. I am not sure if these people paid their bill or not but the waiter's explanation was that they come to dine every evening but today they were not feeling well... Yeah, right! Anyway, the waiter did not agree to offer us a discount and that's were things started becoming tense. He called some woman, then other guy but not many of them actually speak English. After a while of arguing they all became rude and started threatening us. So we just decided to leave. We left 140 euro on the table (the bill was for 170) end started going away. Suddenly they all started running after us, swearing, calling us puta merde and one of them wanted to... beat us! Seriously if the other man was not keeping this crazy fella away we would all got bitten in the middle of Trapani! Absolutely horrendous. Thankfully we run away and didn't have to call police but it was very scary. The the next day we saw these guys outside that restaurant and also in a coffee shop at the corner further down (where there are loads of pomegranates on the table outside) so we think that it could be the same owner. So I highly recommend to avoid both places if you want to stay healthy and safe in Trapani. AWFUL PLACE,...
Read moreWe visit this restaurant every time we are in Trapani and have always been very fond of it. The food is tasty, but unfortunately good service is just as important as good food. During our last visit, the service was clearly disorganized. The waiter with the moustache - excellent, but all the others were far below an acceptable standard – especially the loudest one, who seemed annoyed whenever customers ordered something different from what he recommended. Moreover, this gentleman is often quite rude.
We ordered a starter and main courses. Despite several reminders, we had to wait over an hour for the starter – which is simply unacceptable. After that long wait, the main courses arrived first, and only a minute later the starter was brought out. Naturally, we could not eat everything at once, and a large portion of the food went to waste. This is not how it should be. To make matters and our visit worse, the waiters kept approaching our table with dishes that were not ours. We are very sorry about this experience and, unfortunately, the restaurant has lost much of its appeal in our eyes. For sure, we will be taking a break from...
Read moreLovely piazza, very pretty, excellent menu with plenty to choose from. My family (4 people) ordered pizzas and I ordered a traditional local pasta dish. Theirs came quickly, but mine took a really long time.
When my seafood pasta (busiate allo scolglio, OK but nothing special: 1 prawn plus head, and a few shell-on mussels and clams) finally arrived, at least half an hour after their pizzas (I had to remind the waiter several times), he was extremely apologetic. My Italian isn’t great, but I had the impression that they weren’t going to charge me for my dish due to the long delay.
When my husband paid the bill, he didn’t check it (I usually do). So I asked to see it, and they had charged us for my pasta dish. The waiter said that I had eaten it, which is fair enough, although I hadn’t eaten much as I had been so hungry while waiting for it, that I had eaten part of my daughter’s pizza.
They overcharged us for wine - only a little, but still. For me, the whole experience left a bad impression and I definitely wouldn’t go back there.
Beware the cover charge:...
