Our dinner at Taverna Paradiso was unforgettable. The food was absolutely amazing — we had the busiate with pesto trapanese, which was incredibly flavorful, and the fish couscous, unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before. My husband chose the lobster linguine, and it was simply divine.

The staff was extremely kind and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable, and the prices were very fair for the quality and location.

Come rovinarsi un compleanno!! Un classico ristorante turistico travestito da locale chic

Da fuori sembra un posto elegante e curato, ma una volta seduti ci si rende conto che è il solito ristorante acchiappa-turisti. Purtroppo siamo finiti qui solo perché il locale accanto – che tra l’altro consiglio vivamente – era chiuso. Si trova poco prima, venendo dal centro.

La delusione più grande? La famosa busiate al ragù di gamberi rossi di Mazara. Da persona del settore e ben consapevole del prodotto, posso dire con certezza che di gamberi rossi nemmeno l’ombra: erano semplici gamberetti. Ho chiesto due volte spiegazioni e il titolare ha provato a giustificarsi dicendo che era solo un “taglio più piccolo”… davvero poco credibile. I camerieri, tra l’altro, si sono dileguati al primo accenno di domanda, limitandosi a dire che si trattava solo di “ragù di gamberi”, senza specificare la qualità o la provenienza. Scarsa trasparenza e zero attenzione al cliente.

Il resto del cibo? Senza infamia né lode, ma si sente che molta roba è congelata. E a fronte di questa qualità, i prezzi sono decisamente esagerati.

Nota dolente anche il servizio: vino servito caldo, in un contenitore con sola acqua, il ghiaccio l’hanno solo portato su richiesta perché abbiamo cambiato il vino che era caldo. Cosa che il cameriere sapeva, data la sua conferma, ma che ha servito comunque. Professionalità davvero sotto la media. Nonostante tutto, non ho voluto fare polemica per non rovinare il compleanno di mia madre, ma l’amaro in bocca è rimasto.
