Bar Ambra — Restaurant in Tremezzina

I am writing to report a fraudulent charge by Bar Ambra. On June 12, 2025 around 5.30pm my bill for the meal was 130 euros. However, I was wrongfully charged 310 euros on my credit card.

Due to my bank card being in a different currency, the charge did not immediately display in my bank statement, and it typically takes 2-3 days for the transaction to fully process. I only discovered this significant overcharge upon returning to my home country.

Believing it might have been an honest mistake or a typo, I promptly contacted Bar Ambra to explain the situation and request a refund for the excess amount. To my dismay, the staff hung up on me and subsequently ignored all my further calls. This blatant disregard for customer service and refusal to address a clear overcharge is unacceptable and highly unprofessional.

Bar Ambra management, I demand an immediate refund of the 180 euros (€310 charged - €130 actual bill) that was wrongfully taken from my account. I have documentation to support my claim and will pursue all available avenues to resolve this matter if a refund is not...

Made a grocery run into Lenno and stopped here for a beer and a simple ham and cheese panini. Sandwich was good and the bread was incredibly fresh and nicely toasted. Service was polite. As a tourist from the US, I really appreciated how Bar Ambra was open early and didnt close periodically throughout the day. I ended up going every day as the coffee, croissants, and sandwiches were great and affordable. They spoke in English and Italian. Menu options in english.
