DO NOT GO HERE — Worst Restaurant Experience in Lake Como. We had a meal here and while the food itself was okay, what followed completely ruined our evening — and honestly, our entire impression of the place. When we went inside to pay, we were greeted, or rather confronted, by who appeared to be the owner: an older woman, the only lady working there. From the very first interaction, she was shockingly rude. No greeting, no eye contact, just a scowl and hostility as though we were inconveniencing her by daring to pay for our meal. We politely asked to split the bill, something we’ve done at multiple other restaurants in Lake Como with zero issue. She instantly responded with an aggressive tone, waving her hands and snapping “NO NO NO” while muttering under her breath at the till. She was drawing crosses across the receipt. It was completely uncalled for and incredibly unprofessional. Given how we were being treated, we calmly asked to have the service charge removed — again, not yelling or being rude ourselves, just requesting what we felt was fair. At this point, she escalated even further. The waiters around her seemed visibly uncomfortable — heads down, clearly unwilling to get involved. I had to walk over and personally speak to one just to get any help, but even he offered none and turned away. Then came the most surreal part: she started yelling at us, waving her hand in my face and shouting “CALM DOWN” — despite the fact that she was the only one yelling. We remained calm, just trying to pay and leave, but she continued her tirade, shouting aggressively while slamming the card machine in front of us. She removed €10, which we assumed was the service charge. We left as quickly and quietly as we could, but just when we thought it was over, she screamed after us that we still needed to pay more — it was honestly scary. This was, without exaggeration, the worst encounter I’ve ever had at any restaurant anywhere in the world. Since then, we've read multiple reviews describing this exact same behavior from the same woman. Shockingly, the restaurant's response to complaints like ours has included her own admission that she "hates the world" — which is apparently their justification for this unacceptable treatment. We were “greeted” (if you can call it that) by an older woman – the only woman working in the restaurant, who we believe may be the owner. She spoke to us in a cold, aggressive manner from the outset. We politely asked to split the bill, which has never been a problem anywhere else in Lake Como. Her response? A harsh, dismissive “No, no, no!” while waving her hand at us and muttering angrily under her breath at the till.
Shocked by her hostility, we calmly asked to remove the service charge, given how poorly we were being treated. We made it clear we were happy to pay for the food, and remained polite throughout. Her reaction? Even more aggression. She raised her voice, glared at us, and began pointing her finger in our faces, shouting “Calm down! Calm down!” – despite the fact that she was the only one yelling.
At this point, we asked one of the waiters for help, but none would even make eye contact – they all looked down and walked away. Eventually, we approached one ourselves, but he was no help either. The whole team seemed fearful or unwilling to get involved.
The woman then slammed the card machine on the counter, showing €10 had been deducted – we assumed this resolved the issue. But as we left, she suddenly screamed after us that we still needed to pay more. It was completely unprovoked and frankly terrifying. This was easily the worst encounter I’ve ever had in a restaurant anywhere in the world.
We later read other reviews and, shockingly, found many people had almost the exact same experience – with this same woman. In one reply, the restaurant even admitted that, in her own words, “she was angry with the whole world” That is not an excuse – and it begs the question: why is someone with such hostility working in hospitality?

Yesterday, my family and I visited a restaurant in Lecco, hoping to enjoy a nice meal with a view of the lake. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. As we entered, we were immediately greeted by a rather unfriendly gentleman. He pointed us to a table and insisted that there were no other options available, which we accepted only because I wanted to enjoy the lake view.
To our surprise, after we were seated, we noticed that other guests who arrived after us were given the freedom to choose their tables. This disparity in treatment was the first sign of the poor service we were about to endure.
The same gentleman continued to treat us poorly throughout our visit. He didn’t bring us the menu promptly, and when he eventually did, he practically tossed the cutlery and napkins onto the table in a dismissive manner. It felt as though he was prejudiced against us for some reason, as he kept giving us unpleasant looks throughout our meal.
Fortunately, after some time, a young lady took over our table, and her service was much friendlier. However, the damage had already been done by that point.
As for the food, it was a huge letdown. The fish of the day was soggy and completely lacking in seasoning. Overall, the food was far below the standard one would expect, especially for the price we paid.
I strongly believe that individuals who work in customer service should be courteous and respectful to all guests. Unfortunately, this was not the case here, and the poor service combined with subpar food left us deeply disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant based on...
