This was by far the worst and most expensive restaurant we’ve eaten at in Italy. We ordered the sweet veal bread, fish salad, sirloin steak, and roasted rhombus fillet. The veal and sirloin steak were mediocre without much flavor. The fish salad and rhombus fillet were truly awful. The fish salad had beef steak tomatoes that were clearly not fresh. Don’t understand why they can’t procure fresh tomatoes in the middle of summer. The radish in the salad were not crisp, and the fish in the salad tasted off. The corn in the salad was clearly canned and not fresh. The rhombus fillet was by far the worst. It was gelatin like and tasted like bad tilapia, clearly frozen fish. I couldn’t even bare to finish the whole thing. I added one extra star because the servers were nice. If you are coming from Villa Balbianello and looking for a place to lunch, take the ferry directly to wherever you came from and go to a restaurant there instead. This place is completely awful and not worth your money at all. Do not be fooled by the other reviews, you...
Read moreConsistently excellent - location, food & service with reasonable prices.. Choose from the comprehensive Italian menu or the lighter lunches (which you’ll find on the back page). The menu is published in Italian, English, German and (if I remember correctly) French. We have our second home in Como and we visit Lenno regularly. Lunch here is a relaxing experience on a pretty terrace overlooking the lake. It’s quiet and the tables are sensibly spaced apart. This isn’t a tourist trap hotspot like those you’ll find in Varenna or Bellagio. The hospitality team are professional, courteous and the lead manager knows how to run a smooth operation even at the busiest of times - he has a direct approach but be patient since he knows what he’s doing, it’s not personal so chill. It’s worth it! Highly...
Read moreRistorante Giglio is an upscale yet relaxed modern restaurant situated directly off the walkway bordering Lake Como, in Lenno Italy. With great food, and a professional plus friendly staff, my party found it very comfortable dining on their outdoor patio in July. For my entreé I dined upon the suckling pig, which was cut into two thick medallions, and encrusted with pistachios. It was served in a sort of thin gravy, with a garlic aoli complementing the thick cut potatoes served on the side. For dessert I had the Sweet cheese ball, garnished with basil, and with a raspberry and strawberry at its base. It was also stuffed with an almost pesto-consistency basil pureé, and drizzled over top was a berry sauce covering the entire thing. Everything...
